#PFAS News EPA just updated its Interim Guidance on Destroying and Disposing of certain PFAS and PFAS-containing materials that are not consumer products. The 2024 updated interim guidance provides methods to remediate, dispose of, and destroy PFAS contamination and information on the current state of science and associated uncertainties for three large-scale capacity technologies that can destroy PFAS or control PFAS release into the environment, including thermal destruction, landfills, and underground injection. https://lnkd.in/e7u9b-us

PFAS contamination had reached elevated levels in the groundwater beneath our customer's industrial site. 💧 To address this, we engineered a comprehensive trial system, specifically tailored to their water and operating conditions. Here's how we did it: ➡ First, remove PFAS from wastewater with foam fractionation to up-concentrate PFAS by >11x. ➡ Second, destroy PFAS to below detection limits using our patented catalytic oxidation and reduction technology. ➡ Third, monitor and adapt treatment parameters in real-time using our proprietary online analytics technology, ensuring compliance and energy efficiency every time. The outcome? ✅ 99.5% of broad spectra PFAS eliminated from 8776 ng/L in the concentrated foamate to <14 ng/L after degradation. ✅ Less than 1 kWh/m³ of energy consumed. #STP #WWTP This is the wastewater treatment plant we undertake for bean product production. It uses UASB anaerobic + A2/O technology. After pretreatment by screen, adjustment and aeration tank, it enters UASB + A2O biological contact oxidation. COD is reduced from 14,000 to 200. The treated wastewater is also reused for re-washing and cleaning, reducing production costs and waste of water resources.

Its a pure pleasure to see when efficient water tech is used the right way, proving that sustainable, effective and economic remediation of #PFAS is a both possible and available in full scale to the world market.
📣 Here at EPOC Enviro, we are enormously proud of our technology’s involvement in a recent #PFAS remediation project in the USA which resulted in the successful treatment of 1.46 million gallons of PFAS impacted waters. This was arguably one of the world’s largest PFAS remediation efforts and took place over a three-week period. This project was an initiative of 4never™, which is a closed-loop PFAS remediation solution offered collectively by EPOC Enviro and our partners Crystal Clean and Allonnia. The PFAS processing plant utilised four of EPOC Enviro’s #SAFF® (Surface Active Foam Fractionation) units to treat a variety of PFAS impacted event and site waters.
