⚜️Epidermolysis bullosa (ep-ih-dur-MOL-uh-sis buhl-LOE-sah) is a rare condition that results in fragile, blistering epidermis. Blisters may develop as a result of minor injuries, such as heat, rubbing, or clawing. Blisters may develop within the body, including the lining of the pharynx or stomach, in severe cases. ⚜️Epidermolysis bullosa is inheritable and typically manifests in neonates or young children. Symptoms may not manifest in certain individuals until they are adolescents or young adults. ⚜️There is currently no cure for epidermolysis bullosa; however, milder forms may improve with age. The primary objective of treatment is to address ulcers and prevent the development of new ones. Arthritis is a hidden factor that can significantly impact estate planning. As the leading cause of disability in Canada, arthritis affects 1 in 6 adults, yet it’s often overlooked in personalized care and financial planning. Estate planners must consider how arthritis impacts long-term care needs and costs, not just cognitive decline. This Arthritis Awareness Month, let’s prioritize this crucial aspect of planning for our clients’ futures. #ElderManagement

Migraine is more than just a headache—it’s a neurological disorder that affects millions, often hidden beneath stigma and misunderstanding. The Lancet’s latest publication highlights this truth, affirming migraine as a recognised disability. As Dr Messoud Ashina emphasised during the Migraine World Summit, migraine ranks as the second leading cause of disability globally. This reality is now widely supported by neurologists and experts across the field, sparking much-needed conversations on LinkedIn and beyond. Let’s continue reducing the stigma by sharing knowledge, fostering empathy, and advocating for better care and support. For those living with migraine, I stand with you as a sufferer, your experience is valid—and you’re not alone. Together, we can shift perspectives and build a world that truly understands and accommodates invisible disabilities like migraine. In Australia, we seem to be lagging behind in recognising and addressing the impact of migraine, particularly compared to the UK, which is leading in research, awareness, and support. Australia needs to do more, especially for women, female students, and mature-aged women, who are disproportionately affected. Stigma around migraine persists, and current disability allowances fall short in providing adequate support. Greater awareness, policy reform, and accessible care are essential steps toward reducing the burden on those living with this debilitating condition. #migraine #migrainesupport #disability #policyreform #inequality #discrimination #healthcare #healthandwellbeing #workplaceculture #humanrightsviolations #migraineawareness #DisabilityAwareness #migrainelife
