The M-ERA.NET consortium has met to discuss the preparation of the upcoming Call 2025, including the thematic priorities. A detailed work programme will be elaborated until early 2025 in cooperation 🤝 with representatives of the research community. The #SETPlan conference 2024 is ongoing in Budapest! The Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) facilitates cooperation in European research and innovation and the development of clean energy solutions to accelerate the energy transition. Each year, during the conference our scientists present a report on the progress of this initiative and the status of clean investments in Europe. This year, we highlight the importance of linking the SET Plan with the Net Zero Industry Act – the EU regulation that aims at boosting the production of clean energy technologies in Europe. This legal linkage will help strengthen connections between European research, innovation and manufacturing of innovative solutions and the coordination of common policies.  #SETPlan2024

Will ARPA-E get a few concept papers from South Dakota by July 16th for this reimagined OPEN FOA? It is the only state missing on the choropleth of all 1500+ projects over the past 15 years. Time will tell. The Clean Energy Transition Partnership just finished its second annual joint call, where applicants from around the world submit proposals addressing various energy-related challenges. Acting as call management, Nordisk Energiforskning is pleased to announce a strong Nordic participation among the projects selected. Out of the 62 proposals selected for funding, 38 featured at least one Nordic participant (62%). Claus Meineche, Head of the EUDP secretariat and Danish board member of Nordic Energy Research, elaborates on the Nordic involvement in the CETPartnership: "The Nordic strength in the CETPartnership promotes technology development, research, and innovation. We are proud to see many participants taking a leading position, ensuring that we can drive pioneering solutions that set the standard for sustainable energy in Europe." On November 21st, EnergyVille, Benelux Business Roundtable (BBR), Benelux Union, Flux50 , POM Limburg, and Thor Park organized the Energy Mission – Benelux Edition 2024. With over 200 participants, this unique event brought together decision-makers, industry leaders, and innovators from the Benelux and neighboring regions to tackle challenges in cross-border industrial value chains and decarbonization. Key highlights: 🔹 A powerful line-up of 20+ speakers and panelists – from C-level leaders in energy, chemical, and cement industries to research institutes, clusters, and government representatives. 🔹 Strategic collaboration: Preliminary results shared on energy infrastructures and carbon value chains by VITO-EnergyVille (B), TNO (NL), and DECHEMA (D). 🔹 An impressive joint presentation by pipeline operators Fluxys, Gasunie, and CREOS – underlining regional cooperation. 🔹 Action-driven proposals and urgent calls to remove cross-border obstacles, aligning industrial competitiveness with decarbonization goals.
