Creativity in Product: Lessons from a Cool Piece of Art 🚐 I had the chance to check out this incredible piece by Kim Adams, "Bruegel-Bosch Bus", and it got me thinking about how art and product management may have some things in common. As this artwork was built with different pieces and details, managing a product is about bringing together various parts—teams, ideas, and solutions to create something meaningful. 💡 Here's what the experience reminded me of: ➡ It's all in the details: Every little piece in this artwork has its place, just like every part of a product needs attention to detail. ➡ Teamwork: This piece is a mix of so many elements working together, which is basically how cross-functional teams work to make a product come to life. ➡ Big Vision: Bruegel-Bosch Bus is bold and innovative, and in product management, we need to be just as creative to make our ideas stand out and solve problems. It is a great reminder that everything we build is a little like art—carefully crafted, full of detail, and the result of collaboration. Want to create a product vision that truly inspires your team? 💫 Think of it as the guiding star for your product, something aspirational and clear about what you're building and why it matters. Here are some key things to remember: * Focus on the "why": Why does your product exist? What problem are you solving? What difference will it make in people's lives? * Be specific: Who is your target audience? What are their needs and desires? How will your product address them uniquely? * Keep it concise: A strong product vision is short and memorable. Think of a sentence or two that captures the essence of your product. * Make it aspirational: Your vision should be ambitious and exciting. It should paint a picture of the future you're trying to create. * Share it widely: Make sure everyone on your team understands and embraces your product vision. Use it as a touchstone for decision-making and prioritize efforts that align with it. A strong product vision will not only guide your development but also attract talent, investors, and customers who believe in what you're building. 🚀 https://lnkd.in/dm7-jpcV

Happy World Product Day! Today, we recognize the profound impact that products have on our lives and the brilliant minds behind them. As we honor this day, let's remember the importance of building simple solutions that make a difference. In an increasingly complex world, the #products that truly stand out are the ones that simplify our lives and help us achieve our #goals with ease. This day reminds us to continue creating #solutions that solve real problems and add value for our users. It's not just about innovation, but about understanding the needs of our users and designing products that meet those needs in the simplest way possible. As Juan M. Lavista Ferres once said, "Building simple solutions is hard, but it's certainly worth it." Simplicity is not just a #design principle, but a mindset that should guide every aspect of the product development process. From ideation to launch, we must strive to build products that are intuitive, easy to use, and deliver real value to our users. As my boss David Shittu always says, "Good design is simple." Let's celebrate the power of simplicity and the value it brings to our users. Cheers to building simple solutions that make a difference! ................................................................ My name is Samuel AJAYI-WALDORF; The #Global Man. The products team's fixation on milestones tends to divert their attention from the broader perspective. They hop from one feature to another, enamored by each glowing aspect. Individuals work in isolated bubbles, fixated on ticking off one milestone after another, sometimes without significant displacement. 🌶️ Product Tip: Create a “Magic” list. + Dedicate a section in your strategy doc for ideas that seem impossible today. + Encourage all team members to contribute bold, unconventional ideas. + Don't worry about practicality - focus on potential impact. + Regularly review and discuss these ideas as a team. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: These "magic" features rarely materialize as imagined, but they're incredibly valuable. I’ve found that even the ideas that didn’t make it into production played a crucial role. They push the team’s thinking, inspire creativity, and often lead to unexpected innovations. The power isn't in implementing every idea, but in cultivating a mindset of limitless possibility. As your product evolves, so will these ideas. Old concepts might spark new projects, and some may eventually become groundbreaking features. Over time, you'll find that some "impossible" features become possible, while others inspire entirely new directions for your product. Recommend building your "Magic" list. What bold ideas would you add? #productmanagement #engineering #technology

As product managers, we focus so much on features and functions, but do we stop to think about feelings? Niyo Solutions Inc.'s latest campaign showed me how powerful it is to connect with something universal like the need to take a break. It’s not about pushing a product; it’s about making people feel understood. Isn’t that what great product design should do? Kudos to Vinay Bagri and Team Niyo! #NiyoTravelBreak

Reflecting on the past year, I've had the privilege of engaging in insightful conversations with a diverse group of professionals: product managers, designers, consultants, and those simply passionate about products. Despite the variance in titles and day-to-day responsibilities, there's a profound commonality that unites us all—a shared vision for the product. What strikes me most is not just our collective aim to enhance the product but the unique lens through which each role views improvement. It's a fascinating mosaic of perspectives, where every detail is scrutinized, debated, and refined from different angles. This multidisciplinary approach enriches our understanding and pushes us toward innovation in ways that would be unattainable in isolation. This journey has been a testament to the power of collaboration and the beauty of diverse thought converging towards a single goal. It’s a reminder that in the world of product development, our differences are not just beneficial—they’re essential. 🕵♂️ How do you think about the differences between all the product roles in the company?
