Fantastic example of advancement in engineering design through subtraction! Always ask: If two parts are similar, can they be modified to be the same part? Can this part be made symmetrical? Reversible? How can we simplify assembly? Can we standardize hole spacing, hole size, flange size? Simplicity saves labor and increases probability of success and reliability.
