Don't be fooled. Value-based care won't come to you! You need to go to value-based care! How? By weaving together the principles of data, population health management, operations, finance, and change management. Yes, it's challenging, but it's worth it. If you're at the annual #FACHC conference in late July, Carrie T. and I will show you the how, and hear from Syntax Health and Austin Helton about the #VBC #contracting, #data and the impressive results we've achieved. #VBC #ValueBasedCare #valuebasedhealthcare #data #PopulationHealthManagement #pophealth #healthcarefianance #change #changemanagement

At last everyone has an opportunity to contribute the future of the NHS. It’s not about just fixing the here and now, but looking at an NHS and Social Care service for the future, ten years and beyond. We have a unique social responsibility system developed over 75 years. So we are lucky to have a lot of legal, governmental construct in place, that some other countries can only dream about, however, it’s not joined up and fit for the next 70 years. This government may have at least two terms to start to turn it around. We know that a lot of health issues are non- communicable diseases and impacted by the social determinants of health. What is the deal between the citizen and the Health and Care service? Can we invest in looking after ourselves better, whilst the government helps those impacted most in society? Meanwhile, how can we move to prediction and prevention- allowing better health for longer? Balancing our resources, our highly trained and skilled health professionals with using them best value, whilst availing of the power of technology and A.I. To create a more dynamic, real time service and a more enjoyable place to work for those delivering our care! Now is the time to think and be heard.
📢 We want to hear your experiences of the NHS and your ideas to help us change it. Get involved: https://bit.ly/4eLNq1w ✍️ Add your voice today. ✅ Let's make it fit for the future.

So important and for MP’s, the solution is close at hand. Turn the excellent and recently debated statutory guidance on commissioning of palliative and end of life care into a mandatory responsibility. That small tweak will be enough to shift the issue onto the must do list and help save and build critical services across the country that we are now at a very real risk of losing. What we don’t need is more post it parties, draft plans for draft strategies, work streams that don’t deliver change, consultation on things we’ve already consulted on, warm words with no action.
With just 3 weeks until polling day, we want all parties to consider end of life care. Whoever ends up in Government must listen to the needs of the hospice sector, and the people who rely on this vital care. Read more in our joint manifesto 👇 https://ow.ly/KPpp50Sb0Rb

The Holiday Season is a good time to thank and show appreciation to all of our hospital volunteers. Here are some ways to thank our hospital volunteers… Host an event: You can host a casual potluck, formal meal, or even an appreciation gala. You can include speeches, a slideshow, or awards. Send personalized thank-you cards: Handwritten notes are a great way to show that you appreciate your volunteers. You can personalize the notes by describing the volunteer's contribution and how it helps the organization's mission. Write a letter: You can write a letter that shows you appreciate all that your volunteers do. You can include an anecdote about how the volunteer helped someone. Plan social media posts: You can promote special programs and recognize outstanding volunteers on social media. Send a newsletter: You can send a newsletter at the beginning of Volunteer Week to share appreciation for volunteers. You can also send a newsletter at the end of Volunteer Week to summarize the awards and highlights. Give pins: You can give pins to volunteers to mark years of service. Thank your partners: You can thank your partners in the healthcare community for their dedication, skills, and compassion. Meet Ms. Elizabeth; a 27 year retired employee of Baptist Medical Center still on the job serving others as a volunteer here. If attitude determines altitude; then Ms. Elizabeth should be sporting a couple of wings, too! #BaptistMedicalCenterDowntown

🌍 **Celebrating World Kindness Day in Healthcare** 🌍 Today, on World Kindness Day, I’m reminded of the profound role that compassion plays in healthcare. Hospitals are places of healing, but they’re also often places of stress, vulnerability, and uncertainty for patients, families, and staff alike. Acts of kindness here aren’t just “nice to have”—they’re essential to creating a healing environment. Every day, I’m inspired by the ways healthcare professionals go above and beyond: 🩵 Taking extra time to comfort a worried patient or family member 🩷 Offering support to a colleague after a tough shift 🩵 Bringing warmth and empathy to every Interaction, even on the hardest day These gestures may seem small, but they leave lasting impacts. In healthcare, kindness isn’t just a momentary act—it’s the foundation of trust, resilience, and healing. On this World Kindness Day, let’s take a moment to recognize the dedication and compassion that healthcare teams bring to their work every day. To everyone who adds a little extra kindness to a patient's journey or a coworker's day—thank you. You are what makes our hospitals feel more human. 💙 #WorldKindnessDay #HealthcareHeroes #CompassionInCare #KindnessInAction #PatientCare #HospitalLife
