This #fundraising season may possibly be the largest one in our history! (We know that we've said that before, but it keeps growing!) The season usually ramps up at the end of August as schools are once again in session. However, this year we've sent out far more samples, and have pre-set more online stores than any other year prior. So, we know it's going to be a big one. Right now, we are taking our time and planning ahead to make sure that every other facet of our business remains running like a well-oiled machine. With an increased volume hitting our queues, it's important that our customer service, order turnaround, and services do not falter one bit. We've been focusing on streamlining our processes so that even with the large influx of fundraisers coming to us in the Fall, our operations will be smooth. We're doing this to alleviate any potential stress for our staff and eliminate any issues now, before they're ever a problem. All of that being said... Bring. It. Road Safety Week is coordinated annually by Brake and involves hundreds of schools, organisations and communities each year. Brake is a road safety charity that works to prevent road death and injury, make streets and communities safer, and supports the victims of road crashes. The theme of Road Safety Week 2024 is "Be a road safety hero", recognising everyone who helps to make our roads safer and support people after a crash, and explaining how we can all play a part in making journeys safer for everyone. No doubt our drivers play the biggest part in helping to keep our roads safer, while sometimes being the first on the scene of an accident or coming to the aid of a fellow motorist in need. #RoadSafetyWeek2024 #Transport #Logistics

Heartbreaking walking down High Streets these days, empty shops, Closing Down Sale signs everywhere. Has High Street shopping died? Is Online really the only way of shopping these days? All I seem to see these days, are Turkish Barbers, Nail Salons and Charity Shops, and obviously good luck to all of those, but the High Street is in desperate need of some immediate help. The cost of living crisis has hit hard, people simply don’t have extra money to buy “luxury” items anymore. This should be the time for the Government to step in and help Local Shops to survive. Local Councils could help with free parking, but reducing Business rates to give Shops a little extra money to reduce costs would go a long way to helping small businesses survive. The High Street has to survive, for shop owners, their staff, their customers and of course the local community.

I think that this is such an important move and makes total sense, coupled with the new technologies young drivers have to contend with these days in cars compared to us older drivers who had far less powerful vehicles and far less technology. However, my concern is, who will enforce it ? There aren’t enough traffic officers on the road to enforce any legislation that is brought in.

The effect that a GLS can have on the safety of young drivers has been clearly shown. In Victoria 🇦🇺, 120 hours of logged supervised learning, a stringent competencies based driving test, two-stage probationary licenses totaling 4 year after 1st licensing, PTW restrictions on permitted vehicles, restrictions on # of peer aged passengers, towing, alcohol and mobile phone use, to name just a few reduced fatal and serious injuries crashes in 18-24 y/o drivers by 42% in the first 10 years of operation. https://lnkd.in/gUE-bFiK

A group of 40 bereaved parents are demanding immediate action to tackle the unacceptable and disproportionately high number of young driver and passenger deaths on UK roads. For decades, Governments have been repeatedly presented with the evidence on how to reduce the huge risks facing young, novice drivers aged 17-24 and their passengers, but they have all failed to act. Enough is enough. How many more young people need to die before action is taken?
