🚀The Hidden Threat:- Growing Problem of Space Junk📑 🌃Our orbit around Earth is getting crowded with old satellites, rocket parts, and other debris flying around at super-fast speeds. This space junk is a real danger to operational spacecraft ️, like our GPS and communication satellites, and could crash into them, disrupting important services we rely on every day.✨ 🛰️ The amount of space junk is only growing as we launch more things into space, and it's becoming a pressing issue for the space industry. But there is good news! Scientists are working on solutions like space vacuums and harpoons to clean up space junk.⌛ 📑Let's discuss what we can do to ensure a sustainable future for space exploration and keep our orbit clear! ♻️ #SpaceJunk #SpaceSustainability #SpaceExploration #ScienceOverse

The First-Ever Commercial Spacewalk with Polaris Dawn! A step forward for the commercial space industry. This mission, spearheaded by SpaceX and private astronauts, is not just about venturing into space but about redefining what’s possible for commercial space exploration. The Polaris Dawn spacewalk demonstrates that space is no longer the exclusive domain of government programs. It signals the dawn of a new era where commercial entities can conduct complex operations like extravehicular activities (EVAs), laying the groundwork for future missions that will take humans farther and stay longer in space. This evolution unlocks enormous potential for industries here on Earth: - In-space manufacturing becomes more viable. - Space tourism reaches new levels of capability. - Commercial research and development benefit from direct access to space environments. Polaris Dawn is a glimpse into a future where innovation, private enterprise, and space exploration are fully intertwined, propelling us into a thriving Low Earth Orbit (LEO) economy. We at SCM - Space Commerce Matters are excited to be part of this revolution, helping terrestrial companies unlock the vast potential of space. 🌌 #PolarisDawn #CommercialSpacewalk #SpaceExploration #SpaceCommerce #LEOEconomy #Innovation #SCM

From Nature Sustainability: The number of satellites and other space debris in low-Earth orbit (a) is on track to exceed 100,000 in the next ten years as SpaceX, OneWeb, GuoWang and Amazon plan to launch around 65,000 satellites (b). Policymakers must come up with a plan for space sustainability, argues a group of astronomers. (Nature Sustainability | A. Williams et al) https://lnkd.in/dtcHQrZx

Though vast, orbital space is not infinite. Adding large-scale commercial satellite launches to already-orbiting operating and abandoned satellites creates the potential for “a tragedy of the commons” in space. Dr. Moriba Jah proposes a solution guided by the tenets of traditional ecological knowledge, that include recognizing space as a dynamic ecosystem in which changes in one part can impact the whole, designing satellites and spacecraft for longevity/reusability, and promoting a greater sense of accountability among spacefaring nations and commercial entities. SpaceX Success: Space Tourism and Mars Journey Dreams Are Coming "In 2015, SpaceX's successful landing of a rocket that fell from space was a turning point in the space industry. This event proved that space travel is no longer just a science fiction movie. But SpaceX didn't stop there. In 2024, it broke new ground in the space industry by catching rockets in midair. With this development, space tourism, trips to Mars, and many other space projects are now much closer to us. SpaceX's visionary approach is building a new space age for future generations." #SpaceX #space #technology #innovation #tec #ai
