The Monterey County Office of Education (MCOE) and the Monterey County Board of Education are proud to announce the launch of the Gladeo Monterey County Career Navigation Tool. This innovative, interactive platform, accessible at mcoe.gladeo.org, empowers students to explore career opportunities and plan their futures with confidence. Gladeo Monterey County is a comprehensive platform that provides students with detailed career information, including stories and videos that inspire and engage, an assessment quiz for career matching, career profiles, and tools to foster meaningful connections within the community. By highlighting high-growth, in-demand sectors and engaging local businesses, MCOE aims to bridge gaps in career information and access for students, especially those facing barriers. MCOE also seeks to expand access to local resources and career opportunities highlighted on Gladeo Monterey County by engaging with regional educational institutions and businesses, inviting them to feature their organization and career opportunities on the platform. The National Career Development Association (NCDA) reminds us that November is Career Development Month. (This in fact, is ‘career development week.’) In thinking about how to recognize this, two audiences come to mind. This could be an opportunity for individuals to recommit themselves to improving their skills, expanding their professional network, or renew forward progress on their career exploration journey.  Whether you are about to graduate from college, embarking on the first career position, or you are in mid-career with an opportunity to develop new skills and envision the next thing, or if you are planning the sunset of your professional career, with some questions about where your brain-time will go, I encourage you to forge ahead! Know that there are many professional career coaches in private practice to assist you! This recognition month is also an opportunity to lavish praise on my career development colleagues. We work in many settings: higher education, government, nonprofit, outplacement, and private practice. We provide individual services, trainings and formal presentations on any number of career exploration and job search topics. We share the motivation to help others, and we believe it a privilege to do so. Thanks for your Good Work! Navigating Futures in Career Guidance Provision in PES – Global Insights from the WAPES/ICCDPP Career Guidance Survey The World Association of Public Employment Services has partnered with the International Centre for Career Development and Public Policy (ICCDPP) and the International Centre for Guidance Studies (iCeGS) at the University of Derby to obtain an overview of the current status of career guidance provision in public employment services worldwide.

We ran a survey of career leaders back in June at the NACE conference to get a pulse on the state of career services engagement.... Here's a few stats that stood out:  - 45% of career centers offer 5 or more career tools for their students - 30% of career teams said they'll receive more institutional support going forward - 38% of respondents said the most reliable way to engage students with career services was through faculty and staff support  - 55% of respondents described the process of engaging students with career services as "tedious" or "chaotic"  - 2% of career services teams describe engagement with their resources as "great" Which one of these are you most surprised by?
