Hi, Trust & Safety network! I’m excited to share a side project I’m working on a Global Job Board for Trust and Safety professionals. Join me! Why am I doing this? During my last period of unemployment, I had a tough time finding new job roles. I had to navigate multiple websites, job aggregators, and job boards. I wasted a lot of time filtering and finding the right opportunities. Often, I encountered expired or filled jobs. Jobs advertised as “remote” were often actually hybrid or location-specific. There is no clear categorisation of our roles, and even the naming differs between organisations, due to the novel nature of our profiles. As a result, I decided to turn this frustration into something potentially useful for our community of professionals. I want to offer a place where you can easily find fresh opportunities that are a good fit for you. Sign up at trustandsafetyjobs.com and follow the page to stay informed about the launch. What do you think? Please share your feedback about this idea (you can DM me, but let’s aim to keep a public conversation going!). This will give me an idea of how many of us have faced similar challenges. Help me reach more people by sharing this post or commenting on it. Your support is massively appreciated! https://lnkd.in/dJRGknRU

Food for thought! As we enter and dive deeper into lowering standards in order to get people when the FD is hiring! As a fire service, we constantly draw lines in the sand, erase them, back up, draw another line, erase it, back up, etc… I find it increasingly alarming that we are consistently lowering or removing hiring standards or requirements in order to check boxes and please agenda-driven mayors and politicians. The police, paramedic, and fire service are fields where you DO NOT want to lower said standards or people die! It’s on us to keep fighting!!

Many individuals are drawn to a career in public safety due to a strong sense of duty and a desire to serve where others can't. The satisfaction of knowing that you are contributing to the safety and security of your community and making a positive impact can be a powerful motivator. A near miss is an unplanned event that did not result in injury, illness, or damage but had the potential to do so. It serves as a warning that safety protocols might need improvement and emphasizes the importance of proactive hazard identification and risk mitigation. Identifying and addressing near misses can prevent future incidents and enhance workplace safety. #SafetyFirst #OilAndGas #NearMiss #WorkplaceSafety #RiskManagement #HazardPrevention #SafetyCulture #IncidentPrevention #HSE #EnergyIndustry

This was a great video. I get asked ALL the time "what is the difference between a near miss and an incident?" The answer is always the same, to put it simply, incident causes damage or harm, near miss had the "potential" to cause damage or harm. This video does a wonderful job showcasing the difference between the two. All these videos are "close calls" and very easily could have been much much worse, but which ones are "Near Misses"? #ehsmanagers #safetyculture #safetyfirst #safetycommunity #safetyleadership #safetyknights #ehscommunity #safety #safetytrainingandbeyond #EHSProfessionals #Construction #ConstructionEnvironmentalHealthandSafety #ConstructionSafetyGroup #OccupationalHealthSafety #AmericanSocietyofSafetyProfessionals #HSEPeople #HealthandSafetyConsultantsandTrainers #OccupationalHealthandSafetyNetwork #HSEKnowledgeSharing #BritishSafetyCouncil #SafetyProfessionals

THE BREEDER OF INCOMPETENCY If you have bad employees and you keep them in your company for months and months and months. Do you know what’s going to happen when bad employees stay in good companies? Good employees start to leave. One by one. Good people will leave from the company where you keep bad employees. Especially if it’s your family. The good employee then says “I will never be able to become the General Manager, because his (incompetent) brother is in this company. I’m confuse with what’s happening in this company. The boss is doing nothing about it. So I will leave this company and go to a new company where I have a chance to grow in my career.” Conduct scheduled employment assessment for continuous monitoring, even if they are your family members. Take necessary actions to rectify the mistakes. Don’t let yourself become the breeder of incompetency. Be a better employer. Be the breeder of competent people.
