🌿 Top Takeaways from the 2024 NAWM Annual Meeting 🌿 Did you make it to the #NAWM Annual State/Tribal/Federal Coordination Meeting last week? If so, maybe you ran into Ecobot’s Kim Nichols, MBA in a session or out in the field! We're proud to have sponsored this important gathering and knowledge exchange. ICYMI, here are our top takeaways from the meeting: ♦️ The environmental community is already repositioning after last year's Sackett ruling, identifying three key drivers to sustaining and growing our nation's vital wetlands: education, collective action, and policy at the tribe, state, and local levels. ♦️ With much of the Arid West outside of jurisdiction post-Sackett, collaboration, flexibility, and creativity are needed to tackle the complexities of connecting waters and wetlands more effectively, taking historical alterations into account. ♦️ Beavers: Champions of wetland restoration or destroyers of fledgeling mitigation sites? It seems like they came out ahead after Day 3's sessions! Check out #BeaverCON2024 to learn more. Did you encounter a standout topic at the conference? National Association of Wetland Managers

This is the second part of Charlie's journey with the ICJ. This time it is about demonstrating reality against presumed practice. As I said in regard to part I, an expert's duty of care to the court is to provide an evidence based assessment, not a preferred or presumed outcome. Be open to contradictory evidence and question all the evidence you have. Quality check everything. It is all too easy to leap to a conclusion based on apparently clear but poor quality evidence. https://lnkd.in/gGFWvTFu

And even more violations from Quantum… this industry is so rich laws don’t matter anymore… and where is the stop work order the state agency should be dropping at this point? But I’m sure the thousands of backup diesel generators in the region will be fine. And while we’re at it, how about natural gas generation on site “to bridge” the power gap so we can keep building more data centers while they wait for these transmission lines to be built. I’m sure there won’t be any problems there. I mean you gotta keep building we couldn’t possibly slow down and take stock of the situation. The worlds gone mad.
The bad news just never ends for this industry…..
