Are you feeling the friction of handovers between teams? When projects bounce between teams without clear ownership, efficiency and effectiveness suffer. It might be time to consider making team organization decisions in the context of fast flow and reduced cognitive load. 🔍 Sense it: Notice delays and confusion during team handovers. These are your cues that workflows need reevaluation. 🗣 Share it: Use techniques like Team Interaction Modelling and User Needs Mapping in discussions to outline where disconnects and dependencies lie clearly. 🤝 Solve it: Strategically minimize dependencies by redefining team boundaries and responsibilities. Implement changes gradually, with continuous feedback, to ensure smooth transitions and optimal operations. Transform your workflow and boost efficiency with smarter team dynamics. #TeamEffectiveness #SenseItShareItSolveIt #OptimizeWorkflow #TeamTopologies

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁—𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲? It's something I've been thinking about a lot as we work to build products that truly serve underserved communities—small businesses, families, hourly workers. Conflict is inevitable when passionate people collaborate, but it doesn't have to be a roadblock. It can be the spark that pushes us to innovate. Recently, I dug into how managing conflict better can lead to tangible, measurable results. One team I managed addressed a priority conflict upfront—by listening, using the "5 Whys," and ensuring every voice was heard—not only saved us 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔 of back-and-forth but also helped streamline our processes by 20%. That's more time for the team to focus on what really matters: creating tech that improves lives. For me, this work is deeply personal. Growing up in a family deeply rooted in healthcare and education, I've witnessed firsthand how people depend on systems that don't always prioritize their best interests. This is why it's crucial that our solutions are designed to serve those who need them most, and it all begins with a team that can effectively collaborate through challenges. It's this kind of collaboration that propels us forward. 💬 What strategies have you found most effective in managing team conflict? I'd love to hear your experiences and insights. Walk into any organisation and you’ll find busy people. So why can one organisation leap forward, while another faces the same frustrating issues over and over? The difference is fit 🧩 🤔 If you have a strategy to scale rapidly, how will it fit a culture that cherishes quality? ⚖️ Does an agile transformation fit the customer demand for speed, not agility? 💡 How will your rigid time tracking system fit with digital, human-centric collaboration? Let's continue our exploration of team structures and dive into real-world examples of organizations that have become true team innovators. 🚀 Consider a tech company that adopted an agile team structure, breaking down traditional silos and empowering cross-functional teams to work collaboratively on projects. This approach increased flexibility, responsiveness, and innovation, leading to faster time-to-market and higher customer satisfaction. 🌐 Another inspiring example is a healthcare organization that implemented a "matrix" team structure, allowing employees to belong to multiple teams simultaneously. This enabled them to leverage diverse expertise and resources across the organization, resulting in more holistic solutions and improved patient outcomes. 🏥 These organizations demonstrate that team structures aren't one-size-fits-all; they should be tailored to suit your organization's unique needs and goals. By embracing flexibility and innovation in team design, you can unlock new levels of performance and success. 🌟 So, here's your takeaway: Don't be afraid to break the mould when it comes to team structures. Embrace innovation, and watch your teams thrive! 🏗️💬 #teams #futureofwork #woodyworldofwork

In the fast-paced world of software delivery, sub-teams within teams can inadvertently create silos, leading to fragmented communication, reduced efficiency, and a lack of focus on the bigger picture. However, there’s an antidote to this: ensembles within teams—groups that work collaboratively, transparently, and with shared ownership of outcomes. When a team functions as an ensemble, silos are broken down, and the flow of delivery improves. Collaborative problem-solving fosters innovation, knowledge sharing, and mutual accountability. With effective rotation, team members gain exposure to various aspects of the work, and over time, the team becomes truly cross-functional—capable of adapting and thriving in an ever-changing environment. This approach transcends the transactional nature of project-based work. Instead of funding short-term projects that often limit the potential of individuals, organizations should focus on funding people. By investing in your teams holistically, you empower them to deliver consistent value, not just for one project, but across multiple initiatives over the long term. The result? Teams that are not only aligned in purpose but are also equipped to deliver outcomes that are far greater than the sum of their individual parts. What has your experience been with breaking silos in teams? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this approach to building high-performing, cross-functional teams. #Innovation #Technology #Teamwork #Leadership

From buildings to teams: I've learned that reframing challenges through a systems lens can be incredibly powerful, not just in the built environment, but also in teams and organisations. Moving beyond simple cause and effect; I help teams acknowledge the complex context in which they operate. Then identify underlying patterns and develop more effective solutions. I specialise in facilitating team transitions, helping them become resilient communities that can adapt to changing needs and contexts. I especially love working with diverse and multidisciplinary teams. Let's explore how systems thinking can transform your team. #SystemsThinking #TeamDevelopment #Resilience

Recently, I had an eye-opening experience: I worked with three companies simultaneously across different industries. None of these people ever met before but had one thing in common. All three orgs struggled with team misalignment on core business processes. There was a simple root cause. Their workflows were neither mapped nor documented. The impact: - Confusion among team members - Frequent disagreements - Delays in project execution This simple oversight made me reflect: If undefined processes can delay straightforward projects, imagine their impact on overall productivity and bottom-line revenue. It's really simple. Take the time to map out and document your workflows. Clear processes are the foundation for seamless collaboration, faster project delivery, and improved productivity. This simple step can save time, reduce friction, and positively impact your revenue. #BusinessProcesses #Productivity #BusinessEfficiency #ProcessImprovement #OrganizationalDevelopment
