Threat actors are great about exploiting human weaknesses. What type of attacks would work well this time of year? Hmm, gift deliveries are common this week since Christmas is on Wednesday, so that's an easy choice. I don't know about you, but I've received at least five text messages pretending to be about package tracking recently, but the domain is wrong each time. A common trick is to make the weblink something like the one in the image below, but USPS is actually the subdomain and not the actual domain. The real domain in this example is com-helputi (dot) com, which can trick a lot of people since they might see usps.com in there and think it's real. This is a common phishing scam that targets the login credentials, funds, and other types of sensitive user data. Here's some info on this direct from the USPS Postal Inspector: https://lnkd.in/gjDBQcGK Please be careful this time of year and alert your friends and family that might be susceptible to this type of thing. #christmas #phishing #cybersecurity

Watch Out for Phishing Emails This Christmas! Cybercriminals love to take advantage of the festive season by sending fake emails about parcel deliveries or order confirmations. Don’t let them ruin your holiday plans. Here’s how to stay safe: - Double-check the sender: Look out for small changes in email addresses that might indicate a fake. - Avoid clicking links: Go directly to the retailer’s website to track your parcels or confirm orders. - Don’t share sensitive information: Legitimate companies will never ask for passwords or payment details via email. Stay vigilant and make sure your inbox doesn’t become a cyber threat this Christmas. #CyberSafety #PhishingScams #ThinkBeforeYouClick #OnlineSafety #ChristmasSafety #Maximity

🚨 Beware of Scanning QR Codes in the Wild! 🚨 QR codes are everywhere – from restaurants to event flyers – but did you know they can pose serious security and privacy risks? 🔐 Cybercriminals can replace legitimate QR codes with malicious ones, leading you to: Phishing websites that steal sensitive information. Fake apps that install malware on your device. Pages prompting you to unknowingly authorize fraudulent payments or actions. 🛑 Here's how to stay safe: Verify the source of the QR code before scanning. Avoid scanning codes in public places or from untrusted sources. Use your smartphone’s QR code reader (not a third-party app). Check the URL before opening – does it look suspicious? QR codes make life easier, but they can also be a gateway for hackers. #cybersecurity #privacy #phishing #malware #QRCodes #infosec #awareness #digitalsecurity #tech
