🎡 Oktoberfest 2024: A QuickBird Tradition! 🍻 This year it was once again our motto: Oans, zwoa, drei... 🍺 It's now a tradition that our team celebrates the “fifth season” every year with a joint Oktoberfest excursion. And - as always - we were well represented and highly motivated! 📈💪 This time, we brought our singing voices to the Paulaner festival tent. With pretzels in our hands, one (or more) beer on the table and an enthusiastic atmosphere, we enjoyed the Wiesn to the utmost. We are already looking forward to next year. Until then! 🍺💼 #Oktoberfest2024

🍺 Oktoberfest from Munich to Michigan 🍻 Although I grew up in the eastern part of Germany and spent most of my adolescence in the north, I always loved traveling south to Bavaria to celebrate Oktoberfest in my twenties. Yes, you heard correctly- Oktoberfest, with its dirndls and lederhosen, was originally celebrated only in Bavaria, which is just one of Germany's 16 states (Bundesländer). However, over the last decade, other German states have started to join in, albeit with smaller-scale versions of the festival. A similar trend has happened in the U.S., where Oktoberfest has become a big cultural event. Since moving to Michigan, I’ve embraced celebrating Oktoberfest here, enjoying Weißwurst, Sauerkraut, Brezeln, and polka music. I’ve come to love how open the U.S. is to embracing and integrating various cultural traditions. Fun fact 1: My German kids have never celebrated Oktoberfest in Germany- they’ve only experienced it here in the U.S.! Fun fact 2: I often encounter the belief that only Germans can wear dirndls and lederhosen. But please, feel free to join in and wear traditional German costume- whether you're in Germany or anywhere else! 💡 Have you ever celebrated Oktoberfest? ____________________________________ ✅ Do you operate globally? O'zapft is! Last Saturday the Oktoberfest Kicked off in Munich! 🍻🚛 The largest folk festival in the world has been held in Munich every year since 1810. The mega event attracts around 6 million visitors from all over the world every year. On the opening weekend alone, 1 million guests attended the Wiesn this year - an impressive number that brings with it enormous logistical challenges! Here are some impressive figures that illustrate the logistical effort involved: - 7 million litres of beer are served during the Oktoberfest. That's tonnes of drinks that have to be delivered on time. - 14 large festival tents and 21 smaller tents provide space for around 120,000 guests at the same time - the tent materials and equipment have to be delivered weeks in advance. - More than 80 rides and fairground attractions require precise transport and assembly, which begins two months before the festival. Whether national or international transport, on-time deliveries are the key to success - not just at the Oktoberfest, but in every supply chain. We wish everyone a happy and safe Oktoberfest! 🎉🍺 #IFBGermany #IFB #Oktoberfest2024 #Wiesn2024 #LogisticSolutions #OktoberfestLogistics #BridgingSupplyChainComplexity

When the German traffic announcements happen in Italian... A few years ago, I traveled to Munich in late September. The radio jockey suddenly switched from German to Italian, informing about the parking situation around the festa della birra. I then remembered—it was the Italian weekend during Oktoberfest. Traditionally, many Italians join the festive crowd on the second weekend. You can hear a lot of “ciao bella” and animated conversations all around Munich. One of my Indian colleagues shared how Oktoberfest changed his perspective of Germans, whom he had perceived as more strict and uptight. During Oktoberfest, his train commute was filled with laughter and singing. Yes, it might be the alcohol speaking, but it’s more than that. It’s about finding joy together, celebrating no matter where we are from, changing perspectives, and welcoming each other. 🍻 This is where the concept of Völkerverständigung (international understanding) comes in. It emphasizes fostering peace and cooperation among nations through mutual respect and dialogue, promoting cultural exchange, reducing prejudices, and enhancing global solidarity. By encouraging open communication and collaboration, Völkerverständigung helps build trust and understanding between different peoples, contributing to a more harmonious and interconnected world. 🌍 Oktoberfest is a perfect example of Völkerverständigung in action. It brings together people from all over the world to celebrate, share cultures, and build connections. This festive atmosphere fosters mutual respect and understanding, breaking down barriers and reducing prejudices. However, Oktoberfest is just one opportunity among many. We should embrace every chance to create open, inclusive spaces where people from diverse backgrounds can come together, share experiences, and build a more harmonious world. 🤝 #inspiration #culture #Munich #globalunity Photcredits: Flight picture from Creativemia (Instagram)

🌍 13 Nations, 1 Festival, and a Crash Course in German Culture! 🍺🥨 What happens when a team representing 13 different nationalities takes a trip to a traditional German event like the Pichmännel Festival in Dresden? Let’s just say... it’s the ultimate "Integration Program"! 😂 This past weekend, our diverse team united under one common goal: to survive a day of wursts, beer, and centuries-old German traditions. For those unfamiliar, the Pichmännel Festival dates back to the 1800s and celebrates the Saxon region's unique culture, history, and love for all things grilled. Imagine Oktoberfest with even more local flair! Now, as someone whose idea of "German" began with Schnitzel and ended with Rammstein, this experience was a deep dive into the heart of the culture. We embraced the full Germanization experience—from attempting to pronounce the names of local dishes (with mixed success 😅) to discovering that Lederhosen or Dirndl are surprisingly comfortable. 😎 And let’s not forget about the team-building aspect of this cultural integration: there’s nothing quite like bonding over a stein of beer and a shared inability to properly execute traditional folk dances. (No, really—there’s video evidence to prove it, but for everyone's sake, I’ll keep that off LinkedIn! 🎥❌) But here’s the real lesson we took away from the day: It doesn’t matter where you’re from, where you live now, or how unfamiliar the traditions may seem at first. When you approach the world with an open mind—and a sense of humor—it becomes an adventure. The more we embrace our differences, the more fun we have together. 🌏✨ So, whether you’re mastering KPI dashboards or attempting to master Schuhplattler dances, just remember: ❗ Life is a lot more fun when you’re open to new cultures, people, and opportunities. 🙌 Cheers to the team for proving once again that, no matter where you’re from, we can all come together and make some unforgettable memories! 🍻🥨 #EnlocWorld #TeamSpirit #WorkLifeBalance #WhyNot

Prost! 🍻 Oktoberfest kicks off tomorrow, Saturday, and currently spending some time working from Bavaria, I'm feeling the excitement firsthand. Oktoberfest is also a good reminder that even in our globalised world, local cultures and traditions hold immense power — a timely reminder that global brands always also need to think local. Successful brands don't just sell products or services; they create meaningful connections by tapping 😉 into the cultural heartbeat and the specific needs and preferences of their target markets. This requires a deep understanding of each market and adapting messaging and language to resonate with its unique audience. Let's raise a glass 🍺 to cultural awareness in marketing! It's the key to crafting global strategies 🌎 that respect and resonate with local communities, fostering genuine connections that drive success. #Oktoberfest #GlobalBrands #ThinkLocal #CulturalRelevance #Glocafy A link for more information on the Oktoberfest and some of the Bavarian traditions is in the comment. And yes, Oktoberfest starts in September 😃 ! Have you thought yet about how you can best adapt your marketing strategy for international success? Feel free to reach out—I’m here to help!

Oktoberfest is finally here. 🍺 Did you know that the first Oktoberfest took place in 1810 when Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig, who would later become King Ludwig I, married Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen? The festivities that took place for the royal wedding were so well-received that the horse races were repeated in the following years, giving rise to the annual tradition that was initially named Theresienwiese after the grounds on which it took place. Learn more about Oktoberfest, including its significance in modern times, and how you can capture the spirit of Oktoberfest from the comfort of your own home, with our in-depth blog.
