JOB APPLICATION ERRORS: 1. Proof read it! I cannot express how often people copy and paste information, but don't actually check it and so still reference a different job / hospital to the one they're applying for! That's just careless. 2. State why you want to work particularly in the modality you're applying for! 3. Likewise, if you're already doing a very similar job elsewhere, explain why you want to move to a virtually identical role. Otherwise it can look a little odd. 4. If applying for a job in a particular modality, ensure that most of the information is centred around that. E.g. If applying for an x-ray job, your ultrasound skills aren't as important as your x-ray skills. 5. If you work across multiple modalities, explain how much time you spend in each one so that employers can actually gage your level of experience. 6. It's super helpful to list what kind of examinations you can do, and what equipment you've used. 7. Explain any gaps. If you haven't worked as a radiographer in a while, explain also how you've attempted to remain competent in your skills. 8. Rather than state you're involved in training, QA or audits, be specific! "Involved" is a loose word. 9. Please write applications yourself. After reviewing hundreds of applications in a row where a lot of people had virtually identical bits of supporting information, it becomes really obvious who doesn't. 10. Don't leave it until the deadline - some applications close early if there's been a lot of applications.

I dont expect anyone to read this, but I’ve been reading a lot of these post from employers how potential employees are getting rejected due to not having exact qualifications, or the salary expectations…I am having the hardest time finding new employment. I’ve submitted what feels like dozens of applications with no responses, and I know it’s due to missing qualifications. Computer systems I’ve never heard of, not being forklift certified, or not having 3-5 years experience. How does anyone gain experience without anyone showing them how? How does anyone get forklift certified? I’ve called local colleges and vocational schools and they’ve both told me the same things, most jobs will train you..except they won’t. Computer systems, those vary from job to job and if that computer system is specific to your company, how do you think anyone should know it? I just feel that I am being overlooked by potential employers due to things beyond my control. Thanks for letting me fuss.

Any of my fellow unemployed warriors noticed that they’ve started trying to sneak supervisor baby sitting, PM and training instructor duties into technical individual contributor level security roles while also slashing pay down to $85k-$185k? I know I can’t be the only one noticing them trying to push training instructor, supervisor, EVM, cost management and other shit from other non security roles down into regular individual contributor roles lmao. I mean do they think everyone lacks reading skills like them or did they use AI to write these job descriptions or both? 🤣🤣🤣🫣🤦🏿♂️😮💨🤷🏿♂️🤭😔 I mean these job descriptions get worse and worse to the point I’m like getting discombobulated trying to figure out if I even want to apply or not. Minus the fact all of the jobs are a $30-100k+ pay cut for me anyway to begin with but the job description is even worse than the pay cut lmao 😂😫😅🤮 I’m serious yo. Read the fine print in some of these job descriptions. This bs is blowing my mind. 🤯 I’m like holy shit where is back to the future when you need them. I need to go back 20+ years to tell myself bro. Forget STEM, government, military, critical infrastructure etc etc just be an auto mechanic, autobody and welding guy or a city firefighter instead. Skip school, skip all these expensive trainings, degrees, certifications etc etc. It’ll be way cheaper lol. 😅😮💨

How to build good will. "Dear Andreas, Completion of Training (Urgent) We have sent two email reminders, most recently on 13/11/2024 in relation to engaging casual professional staff. This is the third notification that you are required to follow the University’s processes and complete training when hiring, supervising or supporting casual professional staff. [AO: Apparently it does not matter that I have done this for years without problem.] Important: Failure to complete this training requirement will be referred to your manager and may result in disciplinary action. Kind Regards, HR Quality and Compliance"

Jobber ambassador, Lexis Czumak-Abreu, was recently featured in Business Insider! "I could no longer work as a personal trainer under the COVID-19 restrictions. Electricians were considered essential workers. I couldn't just stay unemployed, so I started working as an electrician full time...Once the pandemic was over, I realized I wanted to keep doing it." - Lexis Czumak-Abreu So great to see the media highlight young females in the skilled trades. 💪 Check out the article here 👇 https://lnkd.in/gBiJiup4

Critical thinking needs two sides at least to make a valid debate. Higher education in policing is too big a discussion to post revolutionary rally cries on social media, it needs some empirical evidence and reference to support it. It just so happens that this was the discourse of our recent podcast ‘The D word’ which you can listen to here: https://lnkd.in/egjF5E7t
Own up. Who made the decision that all police officers must hold a degree? This requirement seems to be creeping into many professions. Jobs that were once effectively carried out by individuals with little to no formal qualifications now demand a degree, often in something like underwater basket weaving, to even be considered for the role. How many positions require a degree (just to get past the AI paper sift) to get an interview, could someone without formal qualifications perform just as well, given proper training and opportunity? Does passing an exam truly make that much of a difference, or is it the degree itself that is valued—regardless of whether it aligns with the actual job? Policing, for example, is rooted in common sense, the ability to think on your feet, and knowing that your best tool is often the power of communication. Sure, there are other important qualities, but experience counts for far more in policing than any degree ever could. So why is a degree or formal qualification deemed so important? Could hands-on experience or on-the-job training prove to be more valuable in the end?

When I see Cleaning workers and security guards working so hard... and all that hard work and being paid so low salary , I wonder: What if their lives were better than the ones they lived in their childhood, their volatile upbringing, and their not have a good education (in the past), what if they got a better education and better childhood and upbringing and also jobs, but... the Question still: Will they succeed? With the same diligence and discipline they do in those low level jobs? I know a minister who obtained this position at a very young age, and he did not solve any of the crises that struck society!! In life, we have to take responsibility for our decisions, yes and But life is also about opportunities, proper upbringing in childhood and obtaining a better education, and after all that relationships come to put you in a better place (vitamin wow) What matters to me is that a person remains diligent in his work, regardless of his job position. So for me, cleaners and security guards have a better influence than those in higher positions, who if they are absent for a long time, it will not make a big difference.♿️🫧
