Each time I start a fundraiser, I’m thinking about one friend’s life it could save. In a week I’m turning 33. I invite you to donate the cost of a gift or the night out we had to have together to fund a pickup truck for 12th Azov Brigade. And maybe safe the life to one of my friends serving on the frontline. With the constant threat of Russian FPV drones, a sturdy car during rescue or supply missions can mean the difference between success and disaster. Give 🕊️ Wings of Hope 🕊️ for Kharkiv with us ‼️ Everywhere is Dangerous ‼️ 𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬 on Kharkiv’s homes, shops, and the biggest Ukrainian printing house Kharkiv, with its 1 million inhabitants, is located just 32 km from 𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐚's border. Residents have up to 5 minutes to take cover when missiles are incoming from russia. However, the Ukrainian air alarms often don’t activate in time. In May alone, there were 76 incidents of strikes and shelling, nearly three times more than in April. The air raid siren went off 193 times, sounding for a cumulative total of 474 hours and 55 minutes. That is why we are collecting funds to cover 💙 Kharkiv 💛 ✅ Our target is €8,000 for around 23 drones that will protect the sky above Kharkiv. I am so proud of the work my classmates (Jessica Whitney, MBA, Millie Hale, → Cristina P., Bradford Waldie, Austin McKinney, Stephan Azab, and Jordan Craft) and I have done creating the 2010 Endowment for Cadet Morale with the Air Force Academy Foundation and Association of Graduates - U.S. Air Force Academy. $0.93 per dollar donated to the Class of 2010 Endowment for Cadet Morale goes directly to the cadets. So, for every $20.10 monthly donation, $18.69 is provided to the fund monthly. Since its inception in 2020, seven cadet squadrons have received $5,000 to spend however they see fit. We have seen improvements to SARs, Top Golf parties, video game system purchases, squadron bars created, and restaurant outings (Raising Canes and Chiptole). We make a tangible impact on cadets at USAFA every semester. As a class, we don't micromanage how cadets spend the money. The winning squadron AOC works with their cadet leadership to create an initial proposal for how the funds are spent, including an itemized breakdown. USAFA and the Association and Foundation review this proposal, and then once approved, the Association and Foundation work directly with the cadet leadership to purchase the items. You do not need to be in the Class of 2010 to contribute—everyone is welcome to join our team dedicated to helping cadets currently at USAFA raise their morale in a way that is authentic to their current desires. Why don't we fly our helicopter at night? 💭 A great question, and one which we get asked a lot... well, truthfully, our helicopters CAN fly at night, but can only land on a well-lit, recognised helipad, otherwise overhead wires and other hazards can be impossible to spot. And that's why we use our rapid response vehicles when the sun sets; in the evening, roads are quieter and easier to navigate, and our cars do an expert job of getting our team to incidents quickly, especially in urban areas.
