Today is World Farmers' Day - and we want to say THANK YOU! 👩🏻🌾 for the stability and #resilience of the industry, which doesn't always have it easy 👨🏽🔬 for the joy of #innovation with which agriculture constantly redefines itself 💪🏽 For the #responsibility that our farmers take on every day. 🌎 for the #foodSecurity of the population that agriculture ensures every single day Because without agriculture, we would be nothing. Almost everything we eat today comes from agriculture and livestock farming. 🌾🐄 In Germany in particular, great importance is also attached to maintaining good soil quality. It is not for nothing that our soils are considered to be among the best. 🚜 It's hard to imagine a world without agriculture. And even if we will certainly have to and will reorganize many parts of todays agriculture in the future so that future generations also have a chance to farm and continue to secure our food supply, we are certain that our farmers will master this challenge with flying colors. 🐄🌱 At the ESA Conference in Rennes, Clementine Meunier from INRAE presented her PhD findings on the agro-environmental impacts of reintegrating livestock into specialized crop farms. Her research, based on 15 farms, highlights that the sustainability of livestock reintegration depends on changes in farming practices, driven by farmer motivations and context. When cropping systems are adapted to promote synergy between livestock and crops, livestock reintegration can be a sustainable future option.
