I'm so excited to share that our team at IDA has co-authored a report titled "Designing and Evaluating Innovations for Development of Smallholder Female Livestock Cooperatives in Nepal." This project has been close to my heart, as it showcases the story of rural women and how these incredible women are transforming their lives and the lives of the next generation through collective efforts in agriculture, dairy, and small livestock farming, especially with goats. The report draws insights from the semi-structured interviews that were conducted with 83 women's farming cooperatives across 26 districts and discovered some truly inspiring stories and insights: How small livestock production is empowering women and changing communities. The amazing collective marketing efforts these cooperatives are making. The challenges they face, like side selling and transportation. How community animal health services are making a difference. The importance of educational materials to boost knowledge and skills for better livestock production. With a majority of male members from rural parts of Nepal working abroad, this study sheds light on the resilience and determination of women in agriculture. It's a reminder of the importance of providing support and resources to help them succeed. #Agriculture #Livestock #WomenEmpowerment #Nepal #Farming #Research #Sustainability #CommunityDevelopment #IDA
