Micki (Michalene) Donegan, CFA recently flew to Hawaii to cheer on Brent and Kyle Pease at the Ironman World Championship. Rabobank is a proud sponsor of the Kyle Pease Foundation and their mission to improve the lives of people with disabilities through sports and beyond. Brent and Kyle started off with a 2.4-mile swim then biked for another 112 miles and triumphantly finished a full marathon. “Hearing the crowd roar their names in the finish line brought tears to everyone’s eyes!” said Micki. “This is indeed a reminder for all of us that anything is truly possible.” #GrowingABetterWorldTogether

Exciting news! Edison has been selected to participate in the 2024 ParaTough Cup Games on March 21st, 2024. What’s the ParaTough Cup? It’s not just any event – it’s the signature fundraising event of the Paralympic Foundation of Canada. Picture a half-day corporate challenge combining fundraising and sport competition. On event day, teams engage in three Para Sports – Wheelchair Basketball, Sitting Volleyball, and Para Ice Hockey, alongside some of Canada’s Paralympians. Did You Know? · The Paralympic Games operate independently from the Olympic Games, meaning any funds raised for the Olympic Games do not benefit the Paralympic Games. · Unlike their able-bodied Olympic counterparts, Canadian Paralympians are not compensated for podium finishes. Canadian Olympians make $20k for gold, $15k for silver, and $10k for bronze. Why Should You Care? Your support directly impacts the future. Through the Paralympic Foundation of Canada’s partnership with the Canadian Paralympic Committee, funds raised for this event goes towards creating a future where Canadians with a disability are offered ample opportunities to experience the transformative power of sport. Ready to Make a Difference? Join us in supporting Team “Edison’s Restoration Rebels” goal of raising $15,000 for the Toronto 2024 ParaTough Cup Games! Please use the following link to donate to our Team: https://lnkd.in/dbPvb5qD Encountering technical glitches? May the chance be greater for every participants when their achievement be factually presented, cheered gracefully & elbow touched with good well-being; & for the stated mission such as the tele-communicated via amplitude-modulator and established vision via blu-tooth system controller with effective back-up The why and timing when some better athlete-achievers on the record were volunteered, appointed to master event success and not field for the race or game. Think about the wall-climber, speaker & the experienced time-keeper did not take the time https://lnkd.in/gYTPYtRm

Lessons from 'Pommel Horse Guy' Stephen Nedoroscik: Stephen Nedoroscik, known as the 'Pommel Horse Guy,' helped the USA men win their first gymnastics medal in 16 years at the Paris 2024 Olympics! His story has inspired many, and has valuable lessons for nonprofits: 1. Focus on Your Strengths Stephen is going viral because he only competed in one event (the pommel horse), which is rare for gymnasts, but being a 'Specialist' paid off. We can also focus on what we do best to make the biggest impact. Identify what sets your organisation apart and channel your resources and efforts into that area. 2. Overcome Challenges Stephen didn’t let his eye condition stop him; he adapted. We can turn challenges into opportunities by being creative and flexible. Embrace challenges and find solutions to overcome them. 3. Stay Dedicated Stephen’s hard work and passion led him to success. As leaders, we need to work just as hard to help others. Keep your mission in mind and stay committed to your cause. 4. Leverage Technology and Finance Wisely Just as Stephen used his unique skills to shine, we can leverage technology and smart financial practices to enhance our operations. Streamline processes, use data to drive decisions, and ensure financial sustainability. Stephen's story is a testament to the power of focus, resilience, and dedication—qualities that nonprofit leaders exemplify daily. Let's be inspired by his journey to push our missions forward :) #Olympics #StephenNedoroscik #NonprofitLeadership #Inspiration #TechForGood #Paris2024 #PommelHorseGuy His story: https://lnkd.in/g7VcgrFa

Thank you to everyone who has generously supported Nova Senior team so far. As a proud parent of a Nova Senior team member, I'm reaching out again to broaden their message and invite more support. In addition to seeking individual donations through their GoFundMe campaign (https://lnkd.in/ejzinNri) , the Nova Senior team is actively looking for corporate partnerships. These partnerships will not only support the team on their journey but also help promote the exhilarating world of synchronized skating—a sport that embodies values deeply aligned with those in the corporate sphere. Synchronized skating is a testament to what can be achieved through teamwork, dedication, and innovation. It’s a dynamic and visually captivating sport that showcases the essence of unity, precision, and collective effort. These qualities mirror the collaborative spirit that is so crucial in today’s fast-paced business environment. By supporting the Nova Senior team, your organization can align itself with core values that are essential for success: Teamwork and Collaboration: Reflecting the sport's emphasis on coordination and mutual support, a partnership can demonstrate your commitment to fostering a collaborative culture. Dedication and Perseverance: Athletes' commitment to their craft exemplifies the resilience and dedication necessary to overcome challenges—a message that resonates well beyond the ice. Innovation and Excellence: Synchronized skating is continually evolving, pushing boundaries in creativity and performance. Supporting the team signals your organization’s dedication to innovation and excellence. Community and Engagement: Aligning with the Nova Senior team offers a unique opportunity for community involvement and brand visibility, connecting your organization with diverse audiences and enhancing your corporate image. I am excited about the potential for corporate partnerships to not only support the aspirations of these talented athletes but also to promote your brand's commitment to excellence, community, and shared values. If your organization is interested in making a meaningful impact and exploring partnership opportunities, please let me know. I would be happy to connect you with the team. Together, we can help the Nova Senior team—and your organization—soar to new heights.
Hello to everyone in my network, Today, I reach out to share an extraordinary opportunity that hits close to home for our family. My daughter, Léa-Jeanne, and her synchronized skating team, Nova, after a remarkable year marked by successes at the Canadian Championships and exceptional performances in Gdansk and Helsinki, have the honor of representing Canada at the World Championships in Zagreb on April 5th and 6th, 2024. This historic achievement for Nova is the result of their dedication, training 15 to 20 hours a week while balancing their studies and jobs. The journey to Zagreb poses a significant financial challenge, including costs for additional training, travel, and accommodation. To support their dream, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched. Every contribution makes a difference and will help turn their hard work and dedication into a tangible reality on the ice in Zagreb. I wholeheartedly invite you to support Léa-Jeanne and the Nova team by making a donation through the following link: https://lnkd.in/ejzinNri. There, you will also find a video of their stunning performance in Gdansk. For more information, please visit the official announcement from Skate Canada: https://lnkd.in/eKQDCQvT They will appreciate every form of support, whether it's donations or sharing this initiative. A huge thank you in advance for your generosity and for helping to make this dream a reality.

I am reaching out to see if any of you or your organization(s) would be interested in participating in a session on neurodiversity inclusion in the workplace. 100% of the proceeds from the session will directly support the Canadian Down Syndrome Swim Team (CDSSA) as we prepare for the USA Down Syndrome Swimming Championships in Orlando, from November 6th to 11th. The CDSSA is a non-profit organization that does not receive any government or sport funding. Our swimmers must self-fund their training and seek their own sponsorships. Unfortunately, athletes with Down Syndrome are overlooked by both Swim Canada and Special Olympics; as there is no category that allows them to compete equitably. Unlike other athletes who have a specific category to compete; Down Syndrome athletes face both physical and cognitive barriers, placing them into both Swim Canada and Special Olympics scopes of practice. Competing solely under the current categories from either organization leaves our swimmers at a disadvantage. Opportunities and or funding from either organization are missed as these athletes are not competing equitably in either organization’s selection criteria for funding or events. Our goal at the CDSSA is to advocate for the creation of an inclusive category within Swim Canada and / or Special Olympics. Our current national team holds World, North American, and European records with little recognition for their achievement’s. The CDSSA welcomes the opportunity to work with Swim Canada & Special Olympics to create a more inclusive area for these athletes to thrive. If you are interested in sponsoring our team or having your organization participate in the workplace inclusion training, please feel free to contact me. #DownSyndrome #Swimming #SwimCanada #SpecialOlympics #CDSSA #Canada #sponsorship #neurdiversity #inclusion #nanaimo
