The FIA has announced that from 2026, cars will be able to activate a low-drag mode on straights, regardless of their position on the track. This will result in faster speeds on the straights, with the current DRS effect's benefits negligible. Low-drag cars are a result of engine rules and current drag levels. The cars will have two modes Z-mode and X-mode; Z-mode will be the standard setting, a higher downforce configuration that cars will have for the majority of the lap. X-mode will be the low-downforce configuration, which will put the front and rear wings into a low-drag setting for use on the straights. https://lnkd.in/dBS826wr
