💭 I've launched our new change management model! How does the "Change Herd" model augment traditional change management? This mini-presentation (no audio) introduces traditional components of change, and how the Change Herd embodies the deeper psychology & behaviors that are required. To see the newsletter announcement, check out the article here: https://lnkd.in/eGtwJvfD . . . The "Change Herd" model enhances traditional tools with behaviors & traits that are essential for humans to adopt change. The metaphors are drawn from hundreds of stories ("Fonty Tales") reframing workplace psychology into animal characters. Metaphors help expand our ability to use frameworks and concepts. #elephantinthewindow #changeherd #changemanagement #AI The Elephant in the Window

#damaS – My 2 Cents (and a Bit More) 💭 “Human connection requires a Dual Lens” In today’s digital-first environment, I have adapted, I advocate, I implement and really enjoy AI consumer neuroscience methods, digital tools and what not. Yet...I'm always #mindful that fulfilling people refers to more than just a seamless digital experience. It’s about #connection and the importance to feel understood and valued on a human level. One lesson I never forget—and urge clients to remember as well—is that true success comes from building #genuine relationships, even when primarily online. A well-timed personal interaction, even after a great digital journey, can transform a simple transaction into a memorable experience.

One of the least understood human conditions is misunderstanding. When you already understand something, it’s hard to roll backward and recall a time of not yet understanding it. Much of what we now take for granted as obvious or self evident is simply learned behavior from experience—and not everyone has a similar common base of shared experience and learnings. But when we’re creating new digital experiences, we need not only curiosity and conversancy but also fluency and expertise in misunderstanding. We’re then in a position to design experiences that are are easy and friction free from the start: to meet people where they are. #userexperience #productmanagement #psychology Orginal AI image created with Midjourney

⚡ Attention is the new currency in today's distracted world. Are you mastering it or is it mastering you? In a world of endless notifications and digital noise, controlling your attention has become the most invaluable skill. Nir Eyal, bestselling author and behavioral expert, shares powerful insights: 💡 Traction vs Distraction: Traction moves you towards your goals, while distraction pulls you away. 90% of distractions stem from internal triggers like boredom and anxiety. 💼 Separate Reactive & Reflective Work: Reactive work (emails, notifications) has its place, but reflective work (planning, strategizing) is crucial. Schedule distraction-free thinking time daily. 🤖 Embrace AI Assistants: AI can mindfully track your intentions, gently nudge you back on track, and help you formulate briefings that reduce unnecessary meetings. 🧭 Spend Leisure Time Wisely: With AI offloading menial tasks, use your newfound time for activities aligned with your values - self-care, relationships, and creative pursuits. The future belongs to "autodidacts" - those who master the skill of focused learning. Don't just react to life; choose to live in-distractable.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒒𝒖𝒆 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒚? .................................................................. Have you ever had that feeling when you learn something that just clicks and shifts your thinking? That was last week for me in my #alxAice course, and I couldn’t keep these insights to myself! Here’s a quick recap of what I learnt. I call it the importance of creative thinking in a world increasingly influenced by Artificial Intelligence (AI). The creative thinking process is all about coming up with new ideas, solving problems in innovative ways and challenging the usual way of thinking. The creative thinking process involves 4 stages: 🔷Preparation: This is a groundwork stage where you feed your brain with a lot of data it needs to start coming up with ideas. It involves Researching, observing and immersing yourself into the topic for a better understanding. 🔶Incubation: After soaking up all that information, you might not necessarily think about it at that time, but your brain is processing. That's why sometimes the best ideas comes to you when you are doing something else entirely like taking a shower or going for a walk. ( you can relate right? I have been there too😊) 🔷Illumination: This is the "Aha" moment when a creative idea pops into your head. It feels spontaneous and can happen when you least expect. However, this phase is very brief but crucial because all your prior research and subconscious thinking crystallizes into a viable idea or solution. 🔶Verification: This final phase Is about evaluating the idea that emerged during illumination. You test its validity against the problem and refine it. Critical thinking and experimentation transform your creative insight into a workable solution that can be implemented effectively. Within this framework, two distinct types of creativity can be applied: 𝑨𝒅𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒚. Do you want to know the type of creativity you exhibit? Which particular step of creative thinking resonates with you the most? Join me in the comment 💬as I explore the different types of creativity. Coming across this post for the first time? 👋🏻 Can we pick your brain 😊? Every two months we host a playful debate on a specific topic within L&D to explore the nuance and application of those ideas. Our debates are about unpacking complex ideas and concepts to enlighten L&D practitioners' thought process and decision making on the job. 🚀 We recently kicked off a new season and we're curious: what theme/topic would you like us to explore next? So far this year, Matthew Richter debated the merits of #coaching with Emma Weber and on May 8, Clark Quinn will debate #microlearning with Karl Kapp. Last year, our debates themes included #storytelling with Kat Koppett, #AI with Stella Lee, PhD., #constructivism with Paul A. Kirschner, #LXD with Niels Floor and Julie Dirksen, deliberate practice with Thiagi Sivasailam Thiagarajan… 💡We would love to know what other topics you find interesting and worth debating. Thank you! #learninganddevelopment

"You wouldn't really miss the person who waltzes in in a see-through top and fannies about with the press releases!" For those of you who automatically started playing Aretha Franklin's RESPECT in your head, you'll know why reading Hemsley's RESPECT model made me think of this scene. What I also like about this association, making it an unintentionally multi-faceted reference, is the idea of people feeling undervalued in their roles and being underestimated for the human skills they bring to the workplace. In our latest Insights Paper, Boosting human skills to succeed in an AI world, Hemsley focuses on how "as humans, we need to power up key capabilities and connections - now more than ever" and our RESPECT model provides a helpful checklist to boost human learning: 💃 Rhythm 🤣 Emotions 👯 Social Connection 🤝 Psychological Safety 👩🎨 Engaging Design 🚦 Continuing ⌚ Time "It's essential to keep moving, learning, and evolving for as long you're here and this world keeps spinning." - Rasheed Ogunlaru Read the full article here and let me know if you fancy a virtual coffee to debrief and discuss together: https://lnkd.in/ekq-MM84 #humanskills #ai #learninganddevelopment #hemsleyfraser #respect #connection #capabilitiy #seethroughtop
