🔴 NEWS: Lance Stroll admitted that Aston Martin‘s development programme hasn’t gone to plan over the past 12 months. Last year, Aston had a great start, finishing in the points at every race and being in Top 3 contention. However, with the races going by, the performance started to lack at certain tracks. The upgrades brought to the AMR23 didn’t work as expected. But when reverting back, the performance looked better again. 🗣️ “I think ultimately we took a bit of a wrong direction in terms of development philosophy,” Stroll said. “We went down the wrong path and we’ve slowly been realising that more and more. Now it’s a matter of changing path and then giving it time to develop and get good again by going down that different path.” Also this year, upgrades didn’t work as expected. In Imola a huge upgrade package was introduced but it didn’t show a big performance jump. Last weekend at Silverstone, the team finally had a better weekend. Stroll thinks that they now start to understand where they went wrong. 🗣️ “We’ve done a lot of exploring and a lot of aero testing over the last 12 months,” he said. “Every upgrade we’ve brought, we haven’t seen the benefit that we were hoping to see over the last year. I think we’ve learned a lot and now we’re really just trying to execute, fix the problem and make the car a lot faster.” Currently, Aston Martin sits in fifth position in the teams standings with only 68 points to their name. Their drivers Fernando Alonso and Stroll are ninth and tenth in the drivers standings, way behind the Top 4 teams. ⬇️ What do you think? #F1 #Formula1 #LanceStroll #Stroll #FernandoAlonso #Alonso #LS18 #FA14 #BritishGP #AstonMartinF1 #FIA #AstonMartin #F1Race #F12024 #Race #Racing #Racer #GrandPrix #GP #F1Tech #Official #Car #RaceCar #News #Update #F1Racing #Motorsport #RacingUpdate

🏆 25 World Championships 🏁 Over 200 race wins 🎯 130+ Pole Positions ⚡ 150+ Fastest Laps Nobody has won more than Adrian Newey in Formula 1. This contribution to the sport stands at nearly 20% of all-time wins in the sport. Earlier this week, Aston Martin F1 Team officially announced Newey as their managing technical partner, set to lead the redesign of their 2025 car and drive the team toward the top of Formula 1. The 65-year-old has signed a long-term contract and will also become a shareholder in the team. Why is this set to shake things up? 1. Red Bull Racing & Red Bull Technology lose their technical genius of 19 years; "Losing Newey would of course be a big disadvantage, also because it would mean that another team would then get him,” Helmut Marko said. “In that case, he takes with him not only the knowledge, but also an incredible wealth of experience." 2. The wealth of experience is directly translated to Aston Martin, a team owned by Lawrence Stroll, who are heavily investing in the right people and resources to be on top of the grid. A car driven by Fernando Alonso, arguably, the best driver considered by many on the grid, is the other piece of the puzzle, which is already in place. 3. Opening new doors: Max Verstappen is currently chasing his 4th consecutive world title in a Newey-designed car. Although he is in the lead at the moment, the decline in Red Bull's performance post Newey's sign-off is observable. Would Verstappen be keeping an eye on the movement within the 2026 Aston Martin camp? Only time will tell. Will Newey’s move shift the balance of power in Formula 1? The image showcases just the results but it's worth $85 Million: 𝗠𝗮𝘅 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻: • Due to wet conditions, the Qualifier was moved to Sunday morning and Max was knocked out in Q2 due to a red flag that he would now start his race in 17th position due to a 5-place grid penalty for exceeding the engine component limit. • Norris could now accumulate as many points as possible to reduce the gap. • On lap 1 itself, while everyone was cautious, Max had covered multiple places to be in the points tally. What was the cherry on the cake was not pitting under an early safety car that later turned into a red rlag and it gave him an edge. He could now change his tyres for free and come out in P2 with Ocon leading the race. • Max drove like a champion and grabbed the 'Driver of the Day' title as well, but most people missed the fact that the lead he extended to Norris in the drivers championship was worth $25 million in Bonus. 𝗢𝗰𝗼𝗻, 𝗚𝗮𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲: • Ocon loves wet conditions, his effort of completing without changing his intermediates in the 2021 Turkish GP got him a race win. He grabbed this opportunity with both hands and came P2. • For Gasly, this was his second podium at the Interlagos Circuit this time fighting with other Mercedes of Russell with the previous getting him P2 in 2019 when he had last lap drama until the finish line with Hamilton in his prime. • For Alpine, they managed to grab 35 points in the Brazil GP gave them a jump from P9 in the constructors standings to P6, a jump worth $50 Million extra prize money if they can sustain further. 𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗹: • A lot changed at Red Bull Racing & Red Bull Technology, they won after a draught 10 races while Perez still struggling would be a question. • They were able to reduce their gap to Ferrari by 15 points which if they manage to close down further and get to P2 in the constructors standings, it can reap them an additional prize bag of $10 Million. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙤𝙢𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚: • The race results for Alpine also second my discussion over the weekend with Arindam Sengupta, 'Nothing could happen for months and suddenly everything happening together'. • From my conversation with Amit Gupta, we Indians need to cultivate patience and love for other sports. The post is penned down by an F1 fan from the time when #Alonso used to be a Scuderia Ferrari Driver.

7️⃣ Round Six: Emilia Romagna 7️⃣ Two weeks ago in Miami, we completed our second sprint weekend and witnessed Lando Norris clinch his maiden F1 win. This week, F1 will head to Emilia-Romagna region in Italy! Hosted in Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, the Emilia Romagna GP will be the first of the two races in Italy. The track features a mix of narrow, speedy, and technical sectors as the drivers tackle its 19 corners. Expect action (and potentially chaos) coming into the Tamburello corner. So, what should we look out for this weekend? 👀 Ahead of the 2024 race, here’s a little reminder of what happened in Imola 2 years ago after last year’s edition was cancelled due to a flood in the region: 😳 Both Mercs failed to reach Q3: Lewis Hamilton secured pole position in the 2021 edition and teammate George Russell failed to reach Q3 for the sprint race. 🥇 Max wins the sprint race: Verstappen took the lead of the sprint with two laps remaining, with Leclerc finishing second and Sergio Pérez in third. 🥉 Back-to-back Imola podium for Norris: With his third-place finish, Lando Norris scored his second consecutive Imola podium, capitalizing from Charles Leclerc hit the barriers whilst chasing second place. What’s your prediction for the Emilia Romagna GP? Let us know in the comments below! 👇 ** 🏎 Love seeing Formula One content on LinkedIn? F1 Wacky Races * McLaren’s Lando Norris took pole position for the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix in a chaotic, crash-strewn qualifying session. The session was punctuated by five red flags for heavy crashes involving, in order, Williams’ Franco Colapinto, Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, both Aston Martin drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso, and Williams’ Alex Albon. Thankfully all the drivers were okay. For anyone believing that driving a modern F1 car is easy… top performers usually make their job look easy (sport or the business world)… the 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix Qualifying session demonstrates under certain conditions, competing in a modern F1 is anything but! The problem in such wet conditions is when the car goes, it's very difficult to regain it. The grip levels of modern F1 cars are a sight to behold, thanks to the design and engineering effort, but in the wet, drivers dancing on the edge, can go over that edge in a heartbeat and be flying to the nearest wall! For the Williams and Aston Martin teams, they are already in a race to rebuild both their damaged cars for the main race later this afternoon. *Ex- F1 World Champion Damon Hill’s reference on F1 driver standards 30th October 2024 #F1 #Motorsport #BrazilianGP #AstonMartin #Williams #McLaren #OBR
