Upgrade to our selenium enriched yeast - (Alkosel R397) plant in Felixstowe #sustainability
We are thrilled to announce significant investments in the infrastructure at our Felixstowe yeast plant, one of our main sites for producing our premium selenium-enriched yeast, ALKOSEL. These investments are part of our commitment to sustainability and ensuring the highest quality products for our customers. As a result of the upgrades, we’ve experienced the following benefits: · Electricity usage has reduced by nearly 40% due to new drying technology · Energy consumption in fermentation has decreased by 30% thanks to new blowers · Our combined heat and power system now supplies 100% of plant electricity, 25% of steam, and 10% of hot water requirements The plant also has plans to install an anaerobic digester on-site next year which will reduce gas consumption by up to 50%. Our feed additive product manager, Mark McFarland, says: “We are incredibly proud of our Felixstowe team's efforts and their dedication to producing the highest quality products while achieving positive environmental impacts.” Find out more in the July/August edition of Feed Compounder Magazine.

#How to #Prepare #Biopellet from #Hybrid #Napier #Grass? Dr P.C.Patel #Biopellets made from “#Hybrid #Napier #Grass”. It can be a valuable source of renewable energy. There are different steps: 1. #Harvest and #Collection: - Harvest mature Hybrid Napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum) plants. - Collect the grass stems, leaves, and other plant parts. 2. #Drying: - Dry the collected biomass to reduce moisture content. Proper drying ensures better pelletization. 3. #Size #Reduction: - Cut or shred the dried Napier grass into smaller pieces. A chipper or shredder can be useful. 4. #Pelletization: - Use a pellet mill or pelletizer to compress the biomass into pellets. - Adjust the pellet mill settings for desired pellet size and density. 5. #Additives (Optional): - Some additives can improve pellet quality. For example, adding a binder (like starch or lignin) can enhance pellet durability. 6. #Cooling and #Storage: - Allow the freshly made pellets to cool. - Store the biopellets in a dry place to prevent moisture absorption.
