Every Content Creator on LinkedIn Should Read This (I use this ‘hack’ in 99% of my posts) 90% of the time, the reason why your content isn’t doing so well, is because it’s too generic. You’re not speaking directly to your reader The goal isn’t to speak to hundreds of your readers at once, but to make them feel like they are the only one. Here’s how to do it; I use this strategy for all my clients; 1. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 ↱ Cut the fluff, and let them know why they need you. 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘆: "I would like to take this opportunity to discuss the benefits of our new product.” 𝗦𝗮𝘆 - “Our new product provides a speedy delivery system that will enhance your business productivity and audience engagement by up to 60%.” (Using measurable data takes your content from 0 - 100 pronto) 2. 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐕𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 ↱ Active voice creates stronger and clearer sentences. 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘆: "The report was submitted by the team." 𝗦𝗮𝘆: "The team submitted the report." If you’re not sure whether a sentence is active or passive, use tools like Grammarly or Hemingway to check. 3. 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 ↱ One of the best ways to do this is by using the ‘you’ and ‘your’ terms. 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘆: These strategies helps with low engagement 𝗦𝗮𝘆: You’ll get better engagement in your business with these five proven tactics. 4. 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐮𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬 ↱ This helps you speak directly to each reader individually. 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲: profiles, companies, businesses, etc. 𝗨𝘀𝗲: profile, company, business, etc. 5. 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐬 ↱ The essence of communication is that the receiver actually understands what you’re conveying. You’ve lost the entire essence of your content if the reader is unable to understand you. In sum, Personalized content tends to do better than generic ones. I don't know about you, but for me, the more time I spend on Social Media, the more drained and anxious I feel. But: it can still be a valuable place to show up, share value and connect with future clients. So, I love using SocialBee to use (and recycle) content that I make. As a copywriter, much of what I create for my own business is evergreen. Talking about the important of a CTA and using the active voice are just as relevant in July as they are in December.
