India is grappling with significant water scarcity challenges, exacerbated by an erratic monsoon, climate change, and increasing demand. With 18% of the world's population but only 4% of its water resources, India faces high to extreme water stress. The country's groundwater, a crucial source for irrigation and domestic use, is being depleted at alarming rates. Innovative programs like the 'Atal Bhujal Yojana' are being implemented to improve groundwater management and encourage community-led conservation efforts. In response to these challenges, the #Art #of #Living #Foundation has initiated river rejuvenation projects aimed at reviving rivers and other water bodies. These initiatives employ scientific methods and geospatial technology to restore the natural hydrological balance and create eco-restoration cells. The impact of these projects is significant, with 70 rivers and over 1000 water bodies being revived, benefiting millions of people across thousands of villages. The projects emphasize community involvement and sustainable practices to ensure long-term success in addressing India's water crisis. The combined efforts of government programs and non-governmental initiatives like those from the Art of Living Foundation are crucial in tackling the water scarcity issues in India, aiming to secure a more sustainable and water-secure future for the country. One of such initiatives is described in the post below. Thanks to the blessings & guidance of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar & Art of Living ( AOL) volunteers to make it happen. It's our country & we have to take the responsibility to solve our problems. We can't just depend on the government to solve all our issues.
