Tourism can also be mobilized to spread the eco message and to help them understand that their visit can bring positive impact to the countries they visit. To me, this is a refreshing idea. In nearly all current circumstances, tourism is about oppulance and luxury. This movement might challenge that norm. We can reduce our impact while we unwind and we don't have to expect excesses to be able to enjoy ourselves. This can be that catalyst for a radical change of mindset. I would even like to call it "active tourism" to give it a positive spin, as it is such positive actions done well, done often enough that can create positive exchanges between the tourists and the citizens they interact with. It as good as showing people that good behaviour can be rewarding. Costs the host country little to do so, even though much coordination is required. What do you think? Like for any industry #Sustainability is the key for Tourism also.

In Indonesia, tourist can take an educational tour where them will be given many valuable information about mangrove. Do also try various local foods and buy some local eco-friendly handicrafts available at the kiosks around the park. Among the concrete policies enforced by Indonesia to achieve sustainability are carbon emission offset, planting of mangrove trees at tourist destinations, reef restoration, and activities to address waste, food loss, and food waste issues. The development of five super-priority tourism destinations will ensure Indonesia has more to offer than just Bali. Indonesia has beautiful beaches and seas but also calm, sustainable, and spiritual experiences for tourists. Besides Bali and the five new tourism destinations, Indonesia's new capital, Nusantara, will be developed as a new tourist destination. The concept of sustainable tourism development is accommodated in the Indonesia Tourism Law, where social and economic benefits may be derived from tourism area without destructing the environment and local cultures. Tourist behavior and code of ethics of tourism form an integral part in realization of sustainable development. In order to enhance management quality, volume of tourists’ visit, length of stay, tourists’ expenditures as well as benefits for local community. 

Definitely a step in the right direction. Such practices will change habits eventually. I hope also Finland will embrace truly regenerative tourism and lifestyle development, instead of just relying on historical positives (such as the world’s best educations system, that we had over a decade ago, and the happiest country, that we enjoyed for the last time last year, and are now loosing thanks to detrimental politics). This is difficult to focus on in this political climate, and profits are also important, but Copenhagen shows great example! This is a great overview of some of the policy decisions destinations have implemented to help promote responsible and sustainable tourism. Many destinations I speak with increasingly want to prioritize residents' values so that tourism remains a net positive for the community instead a burden.
