Ini adalah sebuah “Catatan Seorang Fresh Graduate”, Bukan soal keberhasilan atau kegagalan yang pernah gua lakuin tapi gua ingin orang-orang belajar dari kesalahan yang gua lakuin.
Having a degree is often seen as an accomplishment, but it doesn't always guarantee clarity in one's life journey. Even with the educational achievement, individuals may find themselves questioning their path and feeling uncertain about their next steps. The acquired knowledge and qualifications provide a foundation, yet the existential question of purpose and fulfillment can still persist. It's important to remember that feeling clueless is not uncommon and can be an opportunity for self-reflection and exploration to discover what truly brings meaning and fulfillment in life.

If I hired only people who are proficient in English, I would have missed out on some of my best employees.
Remember that fresh grad who called out “Lolly! Lolly!” when she meant lorry? Or the girl who kept calling me mean because she would say, that’s mean when she meant that means? There are numerous others who came in with broken English only for me to read with pride their posts on LI with perfect grammar after they left.
The education system has failed the young people until it is the exception rather than the norm to hire fresh grads with good English. But I will confess that all things equal, I will give preference to those with better English. I don’t have to check every email they write. Or worry about miscommunication over the phone.
I will hire those with poor grasp of English but with excellent attitude. Willing to improve their English. Willing to speak in their broken English in the office so I can help correct them. Eventually, their English will improve. Not 1 day, not 1 month but months and years. I guarantee it. But it takes 2. A willing teacher and a willing student.

It has happened before that my superior commented on my English skills, saying they were not good.
Despite this, I've managed all English-related tasks, and sales have never dropped. Everything has been running smoothly. If my English were truly a problem, it would have negatively impacted sales.
But since sales have remained steady, it indicates that my English is not an issue.
As long as the sales are stable, my English should not be considered a problem.
If I hired only people who are proficient in English, I would have missed out on some of my best employees.
