This summer, 17 exceptional interns played a significant role supporting our vulnerability management efforts. They were assigned challenging work to include reduce ransomware risk, improve vulnerability disclosure, enhance open-source intelligence research, engage security researchers, and modernize high value asset and risk & vulnerability assessments. CISA’s overall involvement in connecting with students and recent graduates has us participating in over 25 different programs, including six dedicated solely to internships. In fiscal year 2024, more than 78 interns from diverse backgrounds and institutions, including the United States Military Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and Stanford University, served across the agency. 📣 CIVILIAN INDUSTRY is adopting the #DoDSkillBridge "internship" model!! (y'all a lot has happened in <5 years for #transitioningmilitary.) Not long ago, many employers didn't know they could participate. In 2024, strong employers will continue to ask ➡ "How can we leverage to support our WORKFORCE needs?" ➡ "How can we drive toward stronger OUTCOMES?" ➡ "How can we make our program more COMPETITIVE & EFFICIENT?" (and my favorites) ➡ "How can we apply this approach to other military talent areas?" ➡ "How can share what we've learned with other employers?" I am grateful to all that made this a reality.
