Author Names Use only initials for first and middle names. Example: Smith, J. A. (not John A. Smith!) 2. Publication Dates APA loves specifics! Include the year (and month, if available) in parentheses right after the author’s name. 3. Titles Matter Capitalize only the first word of the title and subtitle. Example: Understanding psychology not Understanding Psychology. 4. Include DOIs for Journal Articles If the article has a DOI, always include it at the end of the citation to show credibility.
