DrPP / DProf studies: "You create knowledge that advances practice using research skills, creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving and knowledge translation skills, along with analytical and conceptual abilities. The concept of professional practice is an overarching term that defines all occupations involving actions rooted in context; actions that are underpinned by education and a body of knowledge. This course fosters innovation and creativity, giving you the opportunity to critically analyse, synthesise and enhance concepts, meanings and intentions that underpin the theoretical dimensions of actions relating to your professional practice or discipline. The DrPP helps you independently enhance the knowledge that determines and defines your professional focus on practice. The professional focus of the DrPP is defined by a piece of advanced independent work specific to your area of professional practice". - Sourced from: Teesside University https://lnkd.in/gQBMkP6A

🚫 Stop Citing Your References Using APA... Incorrectly! Here's a brief insight into how we get things done at Pefa Solutions. Take note of the following: 1. Author Names Use only initials for first and middle names. Example: Smith, J. A. (not John A. Smith!) 2. Publication Dates APA loves specifics! Include the year (and month, if available) in parentheses right after the author’s name. 3. Titles Matter Capitalize only the first word of the title and subtitle. Example: Understanding psychology not Understanding Psychology. 4. Include DOIs for Journal Articles If the article has a DOI, always include it at the end of the citation to show credibility. Tired of citation stress? Let us handle your academic formatting and get it right every time! #ResearchExcellence #TeamOfWorkExperts #clientsatisfactionjourney #research #researchwriting #thesis #dissertation #phd #students #mastersdegree #master #university #phdlife #graduateschool #immigration #studyabroad #studyinuk #faqs #questionsandanswers #submissions #mastersprogram #phdjourney

As GCSE/A-level results day approaches 📅🎓, let's reflect on Gert Biesta's (2010, 2015) insights on education. Biesta identifies three fundamental purposes of education: qualification 📚, socialization 🤝, and subjectification 🧠💡. He warns against reducing education to mere numbers 🔢 and efficiency metrics, instead advocating for a holistic view of "good education" that encompasses ethical and societal considerations. This perspective is particularly relevant given the global emphasis on international assessments like PISA and TIMSS 📊🌐. Biesta contends that our current fixation on standardized testing may lead us to prioritize what's easily measured over what's truly valuable. In light of this, we should consider shifting towards an educational approach that balances academic achievement 🏆 with the development of social skills 🗣️ and ethical understanding 🧭. This holistic approach aims to nurture well-rounded individuals 🌟 capable of navigating the complexities of modern life. As we anticipate exam results, let's remember that while qualifications are important, they represent just one aspect of a student's educational journey and potential.

Impressive and congrats kaka for preaching the younger generations for a noble cause. Remind them of #Ubuntu or 'Made-In-Africa' #paradigm, they will emerge great contributors to genuine #development for their respective countries and communities. Other good resources might include 'Indigenous Research Methodologies' by Bagele Chilisa and the latest #African Evaluation Journal on addressing #knowledge #asymmetries. Interestingly in the latter, you will find how #Swahili proverbs/wisdom by #AlmasMazigo et al. can inform the design and conduct of #evaluations. Asante sana! We will be exploring key evaluation theories and frameworks, using a diverse range of texts including: 1) Evaluation Time: A Practical Guide by Barrington & Triana-Tremain 2) Program Evaluation Theory and Practice by Mertens & Wilson 3) Developmental Evaluation by Michael Quinn Patton ...and more! Looking forward to sharing knowledge and sparking critical analysis of evaluation paradigms and their practical applications. Plus, I always learn so much from my students' diverse experiences and insights! Let's make this a collaborative learning experience! 🌟 Essential Resource for International Students Applying to US Universities! 🌟 As an education expert guiding international students through the application process, I understand how critical Letters of Recommendation (LOR) are in crafting a compelling application. I’m excited to share a valuable PDF guide on writing Letters of Recommendation authored by Cynthia Verba Director of Fellowships at Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. This comprehensive document provides key insights for both students and recommenders, making the LOR process smoother and more effective. Key Takeaways: 1. Purpose of the LOR: A good LOR not only supports a candidate but provides a well-documented evaluation to aid selection committees in their decision-making. 2. Content Guidelines: Discuss both academic capabilities and personal character, tailoring the focus based on the application’s nature. Use specific examples to illustrate strengths, avoiding generic phrases. 3. Gathering Information: Encourage meetings between students and recommenders to discuss goals and gather relevant materials, such as resumes and application essays. 4. Addressing Weaknesses: If there are any weaknesses in a student's record, a LOR can provide context, making it crucial to have open discussions with the student. 5. Format and Length: Aim for a letter that is 1-2 pages long, ensuring clarity and conciseness without overwhelming the reader. I’d love to hear your thoughts or questions about the LOR process—feel free to share them in the comments! If you know someone who could benefit from this resource, please tag them. Together, let’s support each other on the journey to studying in the USA! #InternationalStudents #StudyInUSA #StudyAbroad #HigherEducation #LetterOfRecommendation #GradSchool #AcademicSuccess #EducationResources #LORTips #ApplicationAdvice #StudentSupport #GlobalEducation
