It’s award season and I’ll admit I’ve hosted more award ceremonies than I’ve won (awards) in my career. True story. Maybe it wasn’t my time. Maybe I wasn’t that good. Maybe I just came up short. Regardless, I never allowed “not winning” an award to define me. I never allowed it to define my potential. I never allowed it to dictate my impact. I never allowed it to steal my focus or joy. Listen, we are all very happy for our coworkers that are nominated and for those that won, it’s important to acknowledge there’s a group out there that are feeling … missed. This post is for them. I want to encourage you and say, awards are nice, but don’t let “not getting one”, define you. Your reward is the daily impact you make with your team. The smile you put on your resident’s face. The hard work you put in daily, to put food on your table. That’s the reward. Sure, trophy recognition is nice, but it fades. Like everything. So don’t focus on the “awards.” Or the lack of them. Focus on the work. The impact. Recognition will come at the right time, in the right way. So when your coworker wins the award you felt you should have won, be genuinely happy for them. Let it go. When you feel like being salty, don’t. Be thankful. Don’t let the lack of “crystal”, steal your joy this time of year. Celebrate every win, no matter how small; each step forward is progress, and every victory fuels the journey to greater success. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my maker and family who constantly pushes me beyond my limits, inspiring me to grow and achieve more. When I received the mail for my nomination. My first thought was 'Why me'. I practically have been thinking what I did exactly or the services I gave to have been nominated. It wasn't because I doubted all I have done over the years or my efforts, rather it was the overwhelming sense of surprise of not expecting any of it to count in grand scheme of things, or celebrated in such profound way. So while I may not have expected this nomination, I have come to realize that its not about being the perfect candidate, its about showing up for the work, consistently, relentlessly and commitment even when no one is watching. To have thought I would welcome every customer with a BIG SMILE 😃. A smile that when nothing is sincerely not funny, to connect when I don't like anything you wear not even a perfume that chokes me, especially to some that has this funny bad smell. To cross sell when the previous and current customer has successfully made u angry thereby reducing your steeze and composure, detecting errors to a bad writing and have spoilt slips/tickets with alterations which must be countersigned and more within the SLA Finally, that part where you cant login to confirm mandate due to downtime for some reasons. This is not a destination, but as a milestone in the ongoing journey to create positive change. So to everyone who has ever doubted their own worth or felt unseen on their desk or space know this that your effort matter, whether it is seen now or later, whether it comes with awards or quiet appreciation just be good. Going above and beyond should come naturally if we only put a little bit of efforts and interest into it. Hard work alone isn't enough. you need to be visible and self promote.  A big thank you to my team in operation for their incredible support. Here’s to celebrating more successes together! 🎉🎉🎉

Jay Shetty I'm not necessarily interested in the game, followers etc. but I definitely feel the disappointments deeply. Recently, I've uncovered unresolved rejection issues that a year ago I'd have brushed off; 6 months ago I'd have said were grounded only in relationship contexts; and today, I recognise permeates throughout my entire life and is particularly connected to the perception I have of myself. The process I love. Until I don't get results after 2 weeks. Then I jump into a new process because lack of progress means i'm being rejected and I'm being rejected because I'm not good enough and because I'm not good enough I have to find something else... This was supposed to be a short post to inspire thinking 🙈 I'd love to know if it brought anything up for you 🙂

I don’t usually question things too much, but there’s something I’ve been thinking about that I’d love to get some perspective on. And whilst I’m at it let me throw my disclaimer: I’m not discrediting any award(s)……So, we’ve all seen this recent rise in awards and recognitions, right? While it’s always nice to be acknowledged for hard work, I can’t shake the feeling that these awards are starting to feel a bit... off. Let me explain. It seems like a lot of these awards nowadays are becoming more about which company can sponsor the event, rather than who genuinely deserves to win. It’s like the more you sponsor, the bigger the chance you’ll walk away with the “Best of the Best” trophy. It’s almost as if some of these awards have turned into profit-making machines in disguise, rather than true merit-based recognition. Take, for example, that one time you see a company win "Best Customer Service" after being a top sponsor, even though everyone knows their customer service is questionable at best. Or when you notice that only those who paid for a table at the awards dinner are up for the top prizes. I mean, how does that work? And, honestly, why should we have to pay to be recognized for doing a great job? If it’s really based on merit, shouldn’t we be the ones getting the reward, not handing over cash for a plaque? Let’s not forget the kicker: you get nominated, don’t sponsor the event, and somehow—surprise, surprise—you fall just short of winning. 😂 But maybe it’s just me. Maybe I’m missing something here. However, I do think it’s worth asking: when we celebrate excellence, shouldn’t it be for actual excellence, not for how much we’ve sponsored? What do you think?

You may have a seen a post I shared a few weeks ago receiving an award and wondering why it took me a year to celebrate that win publicly (this photo is from that same event). Upon reflection, I've realized that my hesitance to celebrate is part of a larger pattern. I have never stopped to really celebrate my wins.  I am guilty of constantly moving on to the next thing dismissing past achievements as if they were mere steps on an endless escalator. The win, once it's in the rearview mirror, somehow loses its sheen because it's "in the past." I cannot be the only one who is like this.  Am I?  Help me out here.  But I am coming to understand that celebrating our achievements isn't about living in the past; it's about recognizing the journey and the growth that comes with each milestone. Many of us, myself included, are wired to look forward, to chase the horizon. There's always a new goal, a new challenge. And while that drive is valuable, it's equally important to pause, look back, and honour how far we've come. Our wins, big or small, are not just trophies to collect but reminders of our resilience, hard work, and the support we've had along the way. Even in writing this I know I will still find it challenging to do, so, I'm making a commitment to not only chase the future but to also honour the present and respect the past. I endeavour to celebrate my wins, to savour the moments of success, and to appreciate the journey because the future is never guaranteed.
