My team has heard me say this quote many times because if there is one mistake I see non profit leaders make too often is not planning ahead. If you are starting up a non profit, have you done a landscape analysis to evaluate how saturated that market is with non profits doing similar if not the same work you propose to do? Doing that planning will help you figure out what will be your non profit's value add to the sector.. the thing that will differentiate your organization. If you are running an existing organization and considering expanding to a new service area or community, have you engaged your key stakeholders for thought partnership in weighing out the potential opportunities or threats to your service model? That is a type of planning that'll help you make informed decisions with your key internal and external stakeholders. Stay 5 steps ahead!
✨Nonprofit leaders navigate unique challenges and opportunities, many times in ever shifting policy and practice environments. To drive meaningful change and uplift our communities, it's crucial to not only keep up but stay, as our Executive Director, Scott McLellan, always says: *five steps ahead*. Being proactive allows us to anticipate needs, innovate solutions, and amplify our impact. Let's continue to lead with foresight, resilience, and a vision for a just, unified and hopeful world. #BIPOCLeadership #NonprofitExcellence #StrategicVision #CommunityImpact #LeadWithPurpose #EquityAndInclusion #TrustBasedPhilanthropy

We are living in unprecedented times. While exciting, suspenseful, exhilarating…it is also overwhelming, terrifying, and stressful. Resistance to change is, unfortunately, very common in all organizations, especially nonprofits. Change can bring feelings of fear and uncertainty from the board chair to newest employee. These negative feelings are what drive people to push back against organizational shifts. While managing resistance to change in an organization falls on the leadership team, it doesn’t have to be a challenge. https://lnkd.in/eyaJHX2C @JoeDuffy, @JimMcGuirk, @TerrenceCahill, @YvonneStyles, @GregoryNielsen, @JasonSmith, @AllanWeisberg, @JayWeisman, @JaySuggs, @ShelleyFeist, @JohnVastag, @JoeCosta, @MichaelShriver, @CarolJee, @GladysMiller, @PatrickCollins #nonprofitleadership #nonprofitexecutivesearch #executivesearch #nonprofitsuccessionplanning
