It's clip we each admitted it: cooking and baking shows are arguably amended than immoderate different benignant of reality show. There's conscionable thing similar the feeling of eating a grocery-store cupcake and pretending it's Cupcake Wars-level, oregon watching Gordon Ramsey perfectly rip isolated a contestant's creation. But arsenic chill arsenic these shows are, accumulation often exaggerates oregon makes up immoderate aspects to marque definite they're 100% entertaining. So, u/Endiee asked, "Redditors who person been progressive with cooking contention shows similar Chopped, what are immoderate absorbing behind-the-scenes secrets?" and radical did NOT clasp back. Disclaimer: Though radical assertion to beryllium speaking from their ain experiences with celebrities, BuzzFeed can't corroborate the validity of these stories. 1. The unreserved aft "go time" isn't wholly accurate: "There is usually a 'hiccup' betwixt erstwhile the big says, 'go,' and erstwhile the contention really starts. That means we halt shooting and the culinary squad usually comes retired and talks down the ingredients with the chefs oregon the chefs conscionable speech amongst their squad and fig it out." –u/TTheorem 2. The contestants aren't arsenic unsocial arsenic you'd think. "My dada did camera enactment for a fewer Food Network-sponsored cook-off/bake-off things. Apparently, they person help, adjacent though connected aerial it looks similar they're alone. Someone volition assistance with basal prep and stuff, moving disconnected the contestant's directions." –u/violetmemphisblue 3. There's loooots of clip successful betwixt participants finishing their dishes and the existent judging portion, truthful the judges are eating lukewarm oregon acold food. "Went to superior (elementary) schoolhouse with a feline who was connected MasterChef inferior oregon whatever, and helium said by the clip they've finished cooking and the judges are tasting, the nutrient is chromatic acold and astir apt disgusting careless of the accomplishment that went into its creation." —u/U_N_Owen1939 4. And for the drinks that request to look cold, they usage fake crystal cubes. "I participated successful a bartending situation akin to Chopped called Shaken the Cocktail Challenge (it's for YouTube). I was the 2nd occurrence that filmed, and the feline who was my hostile mentioned however determination was truthful overmuch clip betwixt the extremity of the drink-making and the sensation tests for his archetypal filming that it apt contributed to his loss. So they had to person these fake crystal cubes for immoderate drinks connected the rocks." –u/ArLeeNotLayOh 5. The play betwixt participants is exaggerated, to accidental the least....

HOT TAKE ... In an attempt to make the pub “A little bit of everything” we have lost the inherently pub like offer that made it singular in the first place. ... In American {Dive} Bars "You can make conversation with the Bartender at ease; your drink will never be empty if you choose. ... The team will move with purpose and speed, there will not be endless beer taps in the middle of the bar making it impossible to get served. Local offerings will not require a mortgage to purchase. You will feel as if your existence in the bar is integral to the experience rather than an inconvenience. Most importantly - The product will actually taste good and be delivered with a smile… You will be made to feel welcome; your story will be interesting (even if it’s not) and you will feel engaged by the experience. "Once you spend enough time in bars in the US system the offer, service and delivery are matched perfectly to expectation and maybe that’s what we need to focus on." https://wix.to/A1LXSQW #newblogpost #hospitality #bars #restaurants #foodwriting #blog #hotelmanagement #restaurantmanagement #writing #hospitalityindustry #drinks #peoplemanagement #reallife #hottake

When I'm not localizing menus and marketing materials for American clientele or translating vital records, I love to bake. So it's probably no surprise that culinary translation is one of my favorite things to work on. I get to use the terminology I learn from baking while sharpening my skills in the kitchen through translating clients' recipes, cookbooks, techniques, and interviews from chefs. It's always a win-win! Recently, my culinary translation work was featured in Milk TV's interview with world-renowned fromager Laurent Dubois during its "Modern Bistro Classics" episode. In the interview Dubois discussed his process of sourcing the best local and regional ingredients and employing the best cooking techniques to create the perfect croque monsieur that both blends the flavors of each ingredient while showcasing every element of the dish. I had a great time helping bring Dubois' words to life for an American audience. Click the link below to check out his interview! Whether you need a menu translated to attract American diners to your restaurant, or you want to translate a cookbook with recipes everyone will love, you can be sure that your project will be done by a professional who is just as dedicated to cooking up the right translation as you are! Send your recipes and ideas to info@trottatranslations.com to find out more. #culinarytranslation #culinarytranslator #subtitles #soustitrage

You're at the theatre and you see: Small popcorn: $8 Medium popcorn: $11 Large popcorn + Large Drink: $12.50 If you're a popcorn and soda lover then you're gonna choose the large option. At least usually. Right ? That's because the medium and large are close to each other in price. And for an extra $1.50... You get bigger popcorn and a large drink. It looks like a steal. That comparison favours you to buy the most expensive option. Switch it around now: Small popcorn $6 Medium popcorn: $7.50 Large popcorn + Large drink: $12 Since the first prices are far apart from the large... You're now more likely to buy the medium popcorn over the big one. See how it works ? So give your customers options. More options lets you better position the offer you WANT people to buy. They can compare and contrast then make the best choice. I don't know how the real pricing works. I don't eat popcorn. If the numbers are off now you know why lol. The point still stands.
