North America for True High-Speed Rail is pleased to present a North America High-Speed Rail Summit on Wednesday May 28th at the Fresno Convention Center. Around 1,000 delegates are expected from all over North America. Come learn about the latest high-speed rail developments in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Of particular interest is that while Tijuana to Mexico City are about 2,000 miles apart when the upper limit on High-Speed Rail systems is around 600 miles per corridor, a 10 hour ride from Tijuana to Mexico City in a spacious state-of-the-art train still makes sense. Also don’t underestimate the value of high-speed trains “blazing” past border crossings such as the one between San Diego and Tijuana-the worlds busiest land border crossing. DUE DILIGENCE & NEW BRISBANE FLIGHT PATHS So many of my clients say at settlement, 'We got lucky with the selection'. While luck (destiny) is always an element, I don't think my clients realise how much due diligence goes into the sourcing of properties. None of my clients have purchased property under a flight path, but of course there's no guarantee about future flight paths. With the upcoming Olympics in Brisbane, the Queensland State Government are proposing new flight paths. If you've sourced property through Visionworks, please look into these new flight paths to see if the proposed path is over your property because it will affect the value and yield. While winter kicks into Canada, we today announced the biggest WestJet summer flight schedule ever for the summer season 2025 😎! Overall we will grow our seat capacity across Canada by 10% compared to last summer, with a particular focus on our core Western markets, such as Calgary (+11%), Vancouver (+12%), Kelowna (+15%), Victoria (+18%), Winnipeg (+19%), Saskatoon (+19%), Regina (+23%), and Edmonton (+23%)! This includes new destinations added to our network such as US cities like Anchorage, Raleigh-Durham, and Salt Lake City. Also Eastern Canada sees significant growth with 4% in Toronto, 31% in Montreal and 36% in Ottawa. We are further expanding our seasonal transatlantic flying on our Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft from Toronto, Halifax, and St. John’s to various European destinations. A lot of this growth was made possible by securing the entire fleet of nine aircraft from a Canadian Low Cost Carrier that ceased operation earlier this year, with this keeping the capacity in Canada to continue serving Canadians - in addition to some new aircraft we are receiving from Boeing🤞.
