The Department for Education has recently released a new piece of guidance to help school building owners and maintenance staff identify building systems and prioritise maintenance and repair of their school estate. Now that the DfE has concluded its RAAC management, with all schools identified having plans in place to remove it or remove its load bearing role, this new guidance is an indication of a move to get ahead of other structural issues that exist within the school estate. In this blog post we provide an overview of why educational establishments should pay attention to the release of this new guidance, as well as recommendations on how to take a proactive approach to managing the structural safety of education estates. https://lnkd.in/eCBFNmzd #EducationEstates #RAAc #RAACGuidance #SchoolBuildings

Condition Improvement Funding (CIF) is crucial for schools as it addresses maintenance needs to ensure safe and healthy learning environments. It helps to resolve urgent issues such as roofing, heating, electrical systems, and fire safety, while also improving air quality, and water systems, and removing hazards like asbestos. Well-maintained facilities enhance student focus and engagement, while modernised spaces, such as laboratories and IT rooms, support more effective learning. CIF also increases energy efficiency, reduces costs, and lessens environmental impact. It prevents costly repairs in the future by protecting school buildings. CIF also helps to reduce inequalities by ensuring all students have access to high-quality facilities, and it strengthens community ties by creating welcoming spaces for local events. By supporting flexible, inclusive learning spaces, CIF helps schools to adapt to evolving educational needs. At Molloy & Co. Associates, we are proud of our proven track record in not only securing funding but also consistently delivering successful projects with outstanding results. Our experienced bid writers have achieved impressive outcomes, securing £2 million in funding just last year alone, with an approximate 90% success rate. This achievement has been transformative for our clients, who are now directly benefiting from significant enhancements to their estates, made possible by the funding secured through Molloy & Co. We may not be a massive organisation, but we are exceptionally good at what we do! Don’t settle for being just another number—become one of our valued clients, and let us secure your funding today! We’re pretty much the rockstars of securing CIF funding—seriously, our success rate last year was almost 90%! Not to brag (okay, maybe a little), but even though we’re not the biggest company out there, we pack a serious punch when it comes to not just winning that funding but delivering it from start to finish like a boss. Consider us your one-stop, turn-key heroes! So, if you need some expert advice or guidance that’ll actually get you results, you know where to find me. Oh, and did I mention our bid-writing service is totally free? You only pay us when we secure that sweet funding for you (which, statistically speaking, happens about 90% of the time!). #CIF #conditionimprovementfunding #estatemanagement #GEMS #inmolloywetrust #professional

Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) 2025-26: Now Open for Applications. The CIF 2025-26 bidding window is officially open, giving academies and sixth form colleges the chance to secure funding to improve their facilities. At TD Roofing Consultants (TDRC), we’ve been instrumental in helping schools and education property consultants submit successful CIF bids, securing substantial funding in previous rounds. According to the Department for Education CIF Guidance for 2024/25, "Surveys must be carried out by an independent source. Applications will not be considered independent if, for example, they are conducted by a company that has also quoted or tendered for the work or is a waterproofing manufacturer or supplier for any proposed solutions." Despite this, some waterproofing manufacturers are promoting CIF surveys on social media, which undermines the objectivity needed for these bids. At TDRC, we offer fully independent and objective roofing surveys that are compliant with CIF guidelines. We provide unbiased advice, not tied to any specific roofing systems or contractors. Key CIF 2025-26 Dates: Launch: 22 October 2024 Registration deadline: 10 December 2024, 12 noon Application deadline: 17 December 2024, 12 noon Notification of outcomes: May 2025 (subject to change) Ensure your project’s success with a conflict-free survey. Contact us for independent advice that protects the integrity of your CIF bid. #CIF #IndependentConsultant #ConditionImprovementFund #BuildingSurveys #EducationFunding #SchoolRoofing #ObjectiveAdvice #BuildingSafety #CIF2025 #SurveyingProfessionals #Education #manufacturerFREE

In one of our earlier #Academy Updates, we discussed the (then new) issue of Reinforced Aerated Autoclaved Concrete (“RAAC”) in schools. That update concluded that the sector needed urgent answers from the Department for Education to three key questions: 💰 What funding is available to schools? ❌ Will the Government cancel existing capital projects to pay for RAAC? 🔍 What does “reasonable costs” mean in the context of a DfE statement that reasonable revenue costs arising from RAAC disruption such as short term rentals and travel costs incurred would be refunded? Following a DfE policy announcement, read our latest article where Mike Bath clarifies some of these questions 👉 https://lnkd.in/etGc-p9U #schools #educationsector #funding #departmentforeducation #accountants #advisors #article #maximiseyourpotential
