It was an honor to host Francisco, Alexander, and Federico from Nanomox, Nova Biochem and Metalchemy respectively, at UCL for their incredible presentations about their startups 💼
We gained valuable insights into their journeys and the impactful work they do—it was truly inspiring to hear their stories and expertise.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended. We hope you found the event as engaging and enriching as we did! 😁
It was an inspiring event ✨ for those who are starting a project and for those who would like to raise investments. Mostly I liked the following ideas:
-you should move your project as far as possible without VC investments;
- first who should believe in a project is you and your co-founders;
- you should set up limits and deadlines to measure success/failure.
Many thanks PULSE! 👍

Dissertation in Social Studies Raises Questions About Generalizability and External Validity
In an academic setting, it's commendable to recognize the strengths of a dissertation while also critically assessing its limitations. Valentina Wieltsch's dissertation exploring the influence of language used in startup pitches on the evaluation process of corporate accelerators is undoubtedly a significant contribution to the field. The meticulous analysis and insightful findings offer valuable insights into the dynamics of accelerator-st startup interactions.
However, it's crucial to acknowledge that the scope of the research may have limitations. The reliance on data from a limited group and region might restrict the generalizability of the findings beyond that specific context, potentially limiting its relevance for startups pitching outside Germany. While the unique and powerful data utilized in the study offer depth and richness to the analysis, it's important to recognize the need for broader cross-cultural and cross-regional perspectives to ensure the applicability of the findings in diverse startup ecosystems.
Furthermore, the dissertation's reliance on funding from eXplore, while beneficial for the research process, raises questions about potential biases or influences on the study's outcomes. Transparency regarding funding sources and their potential impact on research findings is essential for maintaining academic integrity and credibility.
Overall, while Valentina Wieltsch's dissertation represents a commendable scholarly effort, future research endeavors could benefit from addressing these limitations to enhance the breadth and relevance of the findings for a broader audience and diverse startup landscapes.
Professor and Head of the Institute for International Business at WU Wien
Another cool dissertation in my team.
Valentina Wieltsch just finished with a great dissertation focusing how the language used in startup pitches towards a corporate accelerator influences how the accelerator staff evaluates the startups!
We were able to use unique and powerful data and we profited from the generous funding of eXplore!
Thank you ! And Congrats to Valentina!
