https://lnkd.in/emfz_ydb Across the U.S., insurance companies are using aerial images of homes as a tool to ditch properties seen as higher risk. Nearly every building in the country is being photographed, often without the owner’s knowledge. Companies are deploying drones, manned airplanes and high-altitude balloons to take images of properties. No place is shielded: The industry-funded Geospatial Insurance Consortium has an airplane imagery program it says covers 99% of the U.S. population.

Boeing was once an engineering, manufacturing, quality and safety masterpiece. But, years of the fallacy of Milton Friedman's "shareholder value" has left the company's reputation shattered. Run by Finance people since 2000 and beholden to Wall Street ever since the merger with McDonnell Douglas (which, itself, delivered the ever accident prone DC-10) executives and the BoD have demolished the once impeccable reputation of this American giant. Assuming that executives' compensation packages are changed to value engineering, quality and safety, again (and that is a BIG IF), much of the institutional knowledge that engineered and manufactured quality products at Boeing ... it's people ... have either left or have retired. Where is Boeing going to get that institutional knowledge back from? My brother has worked at Boeing since 1988. A senior manager told him on day one "You can make a mistake here and we can talk about resolving it. But, if you ever hide it or lie about it you will be out of Boeing before you even get to your car in the parking lot." That mindset is, unfortunately, gone. And I struggle to believe it will ever return. So sad. #boeing #boeingfail #boeingfailure #fallacyofshareholdervalue #miltonfriedman #fracasototal #beancounters #beancountingexecutives #eyeofftheball

Whistleblower who dares to speak up about all the safety problems at Boeing: "If anything happens, it ain't suicide." Boeing whistleblower around one week ago: Found dead in his car, ruled as a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A few decades back... There was the saying: "If it ain't a Boeing, I ain't going." That shows how quickly your circumstances can change. Nowadays, it's a complete 180: "If it is a Boeing, I ain't going." Even some of their own employees have been filmed claiming they do not want to get on their own planes Why do these planes have safety issues? Greed. Why the hell are these planes still flying? The same answer: greed. Greed keeps the Boeing planes both in the air and makes them more likely to crash. A harrowing case of focusing too much on value capture instead of creating value.
