Earlier, I shared how engaging users during wait times makes sites feel faster. Now, here's a practical thing: stream ( not the web-sockets, but HTTP Streaming ) your content in chunks. Platforms like Airbnb do this well—they display content as it's ready, so users aren't left staring at a blank screen. With LLMs (Large Language Models) like ChatGPT everywhere 🧠, streaming is vital. Servers can't predict AI response lengths, but streaming keeps things smooth. Why stream? Immediate content: Users see something right away. Server-friendly: Handles big responses without overload. Great for AI: Streams unpredictable lengths effortlessly. Streaming combines optimization with user engagement—just like keeping users occupied to make waits feel shorter. Thanks to Arpit Bhayani for this awesome explanation https://lnkd.in/g_BiCecA

I had a great talk with Tommy Flanagan to talk about the great things we are building at Akta Tech. We are doing some tremendous things by harnessing the power of #AI to drive tangible process improvements in video workflows and making processes much smarter and more efficient. Read on and get smart. #video #ott #D2C #streaming #broadcast
PENNY DROP MOMENT What was supposed to be a straightforward interview on using AI in broadcast workflows was flipped into a reincarnation story, upon discovery that Akta Tech is the contemporary post-Covid reinvention of Anvato—the OTT video and ad stitching specialist acquired by Google during the commoditization spree of 2016. After snatching back the original source code, Akta's Matt Smith spills the strategy in a Faultline exclusive, including a fascinating case study with TelevisaUnivision on getting a hefty AVoD platform up and running in 8 months, followed by a subscription service (live + premium VoD) in 4 months. There are remarkable parallels here with a similar rebirth story—when Quickplay was acquired by AT&T in the same year and then rescued by its founders—but Akta argues there are distinct technical and strategic differences between the two vendors. "You know the difference between a rich genius and a broke genius? A broke genius is two years ahead of his time, a rich genius is six months ahead of his time.” -Clayton P. Knowles, Jr., Esq Paramount's leap into integrating a "mobile shopping experience" during the CMT Music Awards is a bold move that redefines streaming. Teaming up with Shopsense AI, viewers can now instantly shop for items inspired by their favorite moments on screen. This is part of a broader trend with giants like Disney, Netflix, and Peacock eyeing our "second screen" to merge watching TV with shopping, marking a significant turn in media consumption. However, amidst this innovative merge, it's crucial to balance excitement with mindfulness about its impact on viewers. As the lines between entertainment and commerce blur, there's a fine line between enriching and commodifying our viewing experiences. Let's navigate this new era with an eye towards preserving the joy of watching TV without adding financial pressure on the audience. Here's to a future that enhances, not overwhelms, our streaming adventures. #StreamingWars #EntertainmentIndustry #AI

Today's post is not just for LLM's but can be evidently seen in LLM's functionality and (Most of the times flies below the Radar) 🚀 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠: The Secret Sauce Behind Smooth AI Interactions 🧠 Ever wonder why some AI chats feel so natural? It's all about streaming! 🌊 What is Token Streaming/ Streaming? 🤔 Token streaming is when the model serves up words one by one, just like a human conversation. No more info dumps - just smooth, natural dialogue! 💬 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 vs 𝐁𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝: What's the Difference? 🔍 1. Buffered: Server holds its breath, then BOOM! All info at once 💥 2. Streaming: Words flow like a gentle stream, one by one 🏞️ For example, a system can generate 20 tokens per second. If the system generates 200 tokens, with the non-streaming setup, users need to wait 10 seconds to get results. On the other hand, with the streaming setup, users get initial results immediately, and although end-to-end latency will be the same, they can see half of the generation after five seconds. How Hugging Face's TGI Uses Streaming: 🤖 1. Client knocks on the server's door 🚪 2. Server starts chatting right away 🗣️ 3. One-way street from Server to Client 🛣️ 4. No need for "Are we there yet?" questions 🚫 Two Big Wins with Streaming: 🏆 1. Lightning-fast responses which makes it more appealing for end user.⚡ 2. No twiddling thumbs waiting for the full message as the client doesn't has to wait for the complete response to get generated 🕰️ Special shoutout to Arpit Bhayani for inspiring this post! 🙌 Do check out his Video at - https://lnkd.in/gcWTtU3W But I also have a question if Arpit Bhayani bhai you can help Question -Streaming reduces Response time but does Streaming reduces latency ? Credits - Example below is from Hugging Face For reading more about it - https://lnkd.in/g_P2PZx2
