Did you know that every year, 200,000 Veterans transition into civilian life and join the community of 7.8 million working-age Veterans in the U.S.? 🇺🇸 Of those transitioning, 73% of veterans are seeking employment right away. This represents an annual pipeline of 188,000 skilled, experienced professionals ready to work. Veterans bring valuable assets to organizations, such as: ☑️ Transferable skills: Problem-solving, stress management, strong work ethic, flexibility, autonomy, and critical thinking. ☑️ Resiliency: Adaptable in the face of rapid change and challenges. ☑️ Mission Driven: Ability to understand the needed result and how to succeed without a detailed blueprint. These attributes contribute to higher-than-average employment rates compared to non-Veterans. For companies looking to meet their DEI goals, Veterans are a more diverse talent pool than college graduates. If a Veteran sourcing and retention program isn't part of your talent acquisition strategy, you're missing out on valuable talent. #MilitaryTransition #Veteran #TransitioningMilitary #TalentAcquisition

#ThankYou #HireAVeteran Today, we celebrate the commitment and service of our #Veterans who have dedicated themselves to protecting our country. My favorite veteran, my Grandpa, is still so proud to wear his veteran's hat. That speaks volumes about the commitment they make, not just while they are serving but long after. Nothing could compare to all these folks have given. But I have to try to do my part. As a recruiter, I want to pay tribute to the value that Veterans bring to the workforce. In October 2024, according to the US Labor Department, the Veterans unemployment rate came in at 3%. Veterans often face the hardest time landing jobs during their transition from military life to civilian. If you are in a hiring capacity, I urge you to think about hiring a veteran, whether they are 1 year out of service or 10+ years they bring valuable qualities. I hear from companies and hiring managers that they can teach skills but can't coach someone to have a great attitude and be ready to learn. Veterans are often cross-trained in multiple skills and have experience in varied tasks and responsibilities. They know what it means to put in a hard day's work and appreciate the challenges and satisfaction of a job well done. This experience makes them an asset in any workplace. Here are some strengths that Veterans bring to the workplace: #Teamwork : Veterans excel in team environments, having learned that teamwork is essential for safe and effective operations. #SenseOfDuty : They take pride in their responsibilities and are accountable for completing missions. #SelfConfidence : Veterans have a realistic estimation of their abilities based on their experie nces. #OrganizationDiscipline : They are highly organized and disciplined in their approach to work. #StrongWorkEthic : In the military, the mission always comes first, and this dedication translates to their civilian careers. #FollowThrough : Veterans have the ability to complete assignments even under difficult or stressful circumstances. #CrossFunctional Skills: They possess a variety of skills, including extensive training on computer programs and systems, and the ability to interact with diverse teams to accomplish tasks. #ProblemSolving: Veterans can quickly and creatively solve problems. #Adaptability: They are adept at adapting to changing situations. #Rule and Schedule Adherence: Veterans are accustomed to following rules and schedules.

What a great LinkedIn report... Here are some important takeaways from this #report. #Education- Veterans are an educated talent pool, with 60.5% of veterans attaining a bachelor’s degree or higher. Veterans are also 3x more likely to have a graduate degree than nonveterans. #Skills- 61% of veterans' first civilian jobs are high-skilled, and eight of LinkedIn's top 10 most in-demand skills are top veteran skills. #Underemployment- Despite veterans having leadership as a top skill and nearly 2x more work experience than nonveterans, veterans are half as likely to reach director or vice president leadership roles in the civilian workforce. #Retention- Veterans are 27% less likely than nonveterans to leave their first jobs within 6 months. If you want to lean in and learn more about this subject or you are looking to develop a business case or proposal to launch a veteran hiring program at your employer, check out the attached report. I would also recommend taking the "Veterans in the Workplace" course via SHRM too. #veterans #military #milspouse #milcruit MilCruit
