Tiffany Janzen has great content and I really like this great post/video. I do however think that it’s important to point out 2 things when showing non-devs how to use tools like cursor: 1) developing software is not just about writing lines of code. You should at least develop an algorithmic way of thinking before writing your first lines of code and that will require writing some real hello-world-stuff yourself, understanding data structures and at least the basics of informatics. Use Gemini, Claude or ChatGPT to learn these if you will… 2) genAI makes good developers better and bad developers worse. It’s a catalyst for the Dunning Kruger effect, so make sure to have your work reviewed and looked at critically by experts to get feedback and learn along the way. There is no shame in writing novice code or learning it with genAI! Do that, and you’re on a great way to building functional, secure and scalable software.

I completely agree with Tiffany Janzen! The way AI tools are reshaping our roles is exciting. As a developer, I see how these technologies help us prototype quickly and improve our designs. This shift allows us to focus on creativity and problem-solving rather than getting bogged down in technical details.
