ICO, Pathea and I'm founder of Rare Coaching and Consulting, and we're a leadership development firm. As a certified executive coach for C-Suite leaders, I get to see trends that are working and some of the things that leaders do that aren't working so well. And at Rare, we specialize in elevating leadership skills for leaders who are striving to be more impactful, more fulfilled, and more balanced at work and in their lives. This course was created to help support employees in their unique transition from being transactional. To transformational in their leadership behaviors. So you may be wondering, why is this course important now? Well, the workplace has changed significantly. The old tried and true ways of leadership no longer meet the needs of workplaces employees of today. We know based on research that more than ever before, employees actually self identify as activists. We also know that employees are more willing to leave an organization or reject an offer of employment if it isn't a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace. Please know that this information isn't based on the age of employees. Oftentimes we hear employers say, hey, that's a new trend with the younger generation. They just have higher expectations. They want to bring their values into the workplace. Well, what we know based on data is that more seasoned and more mature employees have also raised their expectations of the workplace. What we've also found out is that it's not only women or people of color, which people often think those are the. People or the demographic groups that are seeking a workplace as diverse, equitable and inclusive. Rather, what we've learned is that people who don't fall within those demographic groups. Want to work in a workplace and they notice when their colleagues are being treated inequitably, so they want to work in a workplace that is more equitable for all. And as a leader, you also have to be agile and able to adapt in a way that's sustainable for you and the people in organizations that you lead. You can't just stick to the old tried and true ways of leadership, which often also include things like command and control approaches, but you have to be able to lean into transformational leadership behaviors. And this is learnable. It's a learnable practice that takes time and patience to improve, but it also makes the possibilities endless and the daunting achievable. And you may also be asking yourself, is this course for you? So I'm going to pose a couple of questions for you to consider. Do you want to be more fulfilled at work and at home? And this looks like being more connected with others and yourself. It looks like having more alignment with who you are at work and at home. And it also looks like having more energy at the end of the day because you're expending less emotional labor. Code switching, assimilating, and covering. Here's another question. Do you want to be part of creating a workplace that offers more than just tasks? But it also offers the opportunity to be the kind of leader that puts people 1st and changes the game in a way that is sustainable and desirable for many people, including yourself. If you answered yes to these questions, then you're in the right place.

The dynamics of power in private companies can significantly impact the workplace environment. Today, I encountered firsthand the negative effects of being verbally abused by a superior. Respect is fundamental in any professional setting; it fosters growth and ensures a safe space for all employees to thrive. Leaders should use their authority to uplift and empower their teams, not to diminish them. It's time to reevaluate how power is wielded in our workplaces. Leadership should prioritize mentorship, respect, and creating avenues for development. Let's remember, respect is a two-way street—it's essential for personal and professional growth to flourish. As a people leader, my role extends beyond traditional management—it's about actively removing anxiety from the workplace. Creating a company culture where everyone feels they belong, experiences growth, and can perform at their best is crucial. What does this look like in practice? It means intentionally addressing the fears and anxieties our employees may face, ensuring that work is a safe and supportive environment.
