We're so proud to be working with Mass MoCA, the nation's largest contemporary art museum and a vital part of the Berkshire's cultural community and economy. The Plastic Bag Store is the latest smart, immersive exhibit that combines art and social commentary to showcase the impacts of single-use plastics on the environment. MASS MoCA recently hosted Chair John Barrett, Chair Mindy Domb, Senator Becca Rausch, and DEP Deputy Commissioner John Beling to see The Plastic Bag Store and to partake in an interactive panel discussion. Thank you for traveling out to North Adams for the event, for your leadership, and for contributing your valuable insights to the conversation!

Not all arts organizations are the same, nor do they face the same challenges or serve the same communities. In two companion reports, researchers from SMU DataArts surveyed two sets of arts organizations to gauge what made them so successful. As their results indicate, prioritizing strong leadership, high artistic standards, and community orientation allow organizations’ staff—and the communities they serve—to thrive. https://bit.ly/3C8Utmz

I'm honoured to be able to say that I am - as of today - a Fellow of the RSA, my tiny feet following in the giant footsteps of Judi Dench, Theodore Roosevelt, Muhammad Abdul Bari MBE, DL, FRSA, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, AY Young, William Hogarth, Charles Dickens, John Millais, Georgina Lara B., Deborah Meaden, David Attenborough, Vivienne Westwood, Mary Portas, Herbie Hancock, Michael Faraday, kirthi jayakumar, Nelson Mandela, Karl Marx and another awe-inspiring and long-standing Fellow - my Dad, Steven Fogel 💚 The royal society for the encouragement of arts, manufactures and commerce's mission is to enable people, places and the planet to flourish in harmony. It's vision is for a world where everyone can fulfil their potential and contribute to more resilient, rebalanced and regenerative futures. As fellows, we join the RSA believing that everyone has the potential and creativity to effect change. The RSA works with people throughout their lives, and across society, to achieve regenerative impact; from children and young people to entrepreneurs, businesses and communities. The approach to change involves many different disciplines and perspectives but focuses on three areas. These are: Building capabilities Growing hubs Developing infrastructure I founded both my businesses in order to teach people how to do good ethical marketing so that we can collectively help other individuals, those who we employ and work-alongside, those who believe in use and buy our products - and ourselves - to punch with and above the big boys and girls and support each other to good in society and for the planet. This keeps me going every day. To become a fellow of the RSA is not hard or expensive. You do not need to be white, middle class, male or a wanker. Indeed, the powers that be are inclusive, responsive and encouraging of all of us who wish to influence positive change. It's definitely worth checking out and I hope to see you there. https://lnkd.in/euEF4xsj

Thank you Michael J. Masucci for such a cool six months creating content for DNA Festival. It was my creative outlet - my way to play amidst a challenging founder journey. I got to interview groundbreaking artists who paved the way for digital art, shaping the world we’re so used to today. The debate surrounding AI and digital art’s emergence 40 years ago is uncanny - mortal dangers and epic creations, et al. Innovation is a curious phenomenon. It’s always met with skepticism and resistance. Still, those who embrace its weight become the architects of a more vibrant and inspiring future. This mirrors the path I’m on with Sol Stations, a solar-powered art installation concept designed to create designated spaces for people to meet in public places while fostering a global network through live streaming. The idea addresses a pressing need: reconnecting us as social beings in an increasingly isolated world. Yet, it raises questions: Are we really ready to meet the people we see? Do we have the physical space, the cultural mindset, and the will to take action on such an evident need? I believe art is the bridge. Hence the eye-catching design of my project. It draws us in, sparks curiosity, and creates moments of bonding through a shared experience of beauty. Sol Stations embody this intrinsic pull - offering not just a meeting point, but an opportunity for genuine human interaction and global collaboration. Thank you for renewing my belief in art’s power to connect us - first through technology, then back to each other.

This segment from last week's Netroots Nation, featuring Dr. Kimberle Crenshaw, Keith Ellison, Justin Jones and Tim Wise is worth listening to if you get a minute. Maybe on the drive in or something. If you missed it, here's the description... "Building on last year’s featured session, “First They Came for CRT…,” this plenary reminds us why we cannot remain silent as extremists scapegoat marginalized groups for our country’s problems. After banning Critical Race Theory and discussions of structural racism in nearly half the states and emboldened by a deeply regressive Supreme Court’s SFFA ruling on race-conscious admissions, backlash architects seek to eliminate the most basic diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts. They aim not only to upend the entire infrastructure of civil rights but also to entrench white Christian nationalist heteropatriarchy. This plenary analyzes how we can wage a robust fight for racial justice, and why we must, in order to save our democracy."
