Here, no two days are the same. Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting a film crew to present our company and how we will revolutionize minimally-invasive interventions. We look forward to sharing the result with you. Stay tuned! #InterventionalRadiology #MinimallyInvasiveTherapies #InterventionalOncology

#ECIOtakeover with Rafael Duran, MD, PD, MER, FCIRSE Happy Friday! Every Friday morning, we have our IR unit meeting with the team. We discuss the patients who will be treated the following week, share interesting or difficult cases of the current week, and talk about team-related topics. It is a privileged moment between residents, fellows, and senior IRs! #interventionaloncology #interventionalradiology #FridayFeeling

Precise and important details on the usefulness and use of the alignment system verification tool embedded in the linac and the isocenter of the processing beam.
The use of imaging modalities for verifying patient and target location just before radiation therapy has become increasingly common in recent years, a practice known as Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT). Kilovoltage Cone Beam CT Kilovoltage (kV) Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) stands out as a leading modality for image guidance. It provides 3-dimensional images of the targeted area in a relatively short time (1-3 minutes), offering sufficient quality for precise patient alignment. Our facility utilizes the Elekta XVI system to conduct CBCT. Importance of Isocenter Agreement It is essential to verify the alignment between the isocenter of the CBCT imaging system and the isocenter of the MV treatment beam. This agreement is critical for accurate patient alignment, making these tests vital and necessary on a Daily Basis. Role of the Mosaiq System The Mosaiq System can assist by recording shifts and generating a trend analysis for imaging isocenter agreement, further enhancing our verification process. - 128 years ago first RT fraction was delivered. - In the last 75 years in RT new concepts and irradiation techniques evolved: 2D, 3D, IGRT, IMRT, VMAT, SGRT, BiGART, DIBH, ART - Now, we go further! All to create #AWorldWithoutFearOfCancer
Did you know? Like CT, MR-based Synthetic CT can provide Hounsfield units for accurate dose calculations in RT treatment planning. Read the article on the Siemens Healthineers radiotherapy site: https://lnkd.in/e8Pg5XiQ
