Working with startups has taught me the importance of adaptability and resilience. As an Admin, I’ve worn many hats—supporting founders, organizing key events, and helping teams navigate the fast-paced startup world. One key lesson: Always stay flexible and embrace change. That's where growth happens. #StartupLife #AdminSupport

Do you know what Calendly does really well? One thing. It does one thing, really well: helping people put meetings into other people’s calendars. In reality, that’s all it does, and it’s a multi-billion-dollar company. I talk to loads of founders every week and see them building products that are trying to solve a bunch of different problems in a market. We always say, without fail, to focus on solving just one problem for one customer base to begin with. A spray-and-pray approach rarely works when building a startup, particularly in the early days. Don’t be afraid to think v small to think big. Focus is key ! #startupadvice #productdevelopment #founders

One of the things I love about startup culture is the ever-changing landscape of a startup. The first two to seven years of a startup can see large changes in roles needed and new challenges that occur as you scale. Working at a startup involves embracing growth and adapting to new roles every 3 to 12 months. 🤯 Our COO Jeff Sommer highlighted the importance of this in our recent solutions meeting, emphasizing the need to delegate responsibilities to specialize in areas where we excel, driving Bitfreighter forward as it expands. 🚀 #StartupCulture #ProfessionalDevelopment #Growth

I often give these two pieces of advice to folks looking to join startups or early-stage teams: 1. Series A/B at 50-100 employees is ideal 2. Pick a category more than the specific company Hopefully self-explanatory (but can explain / answer Qs in comments) What's your advice would you give to these folks? 🤔

Every single person working in a startup should have equity Building a startup is hard. It takes a lot of work (you often end up wearing multiple hats), and in most cases you're likely getting paid less with less benefits People join startups for 2 reasons - Personal / Career growth - Because they believe in the mission But there is a big difference between believing in the mission and being invested in the mission The startups I've seen have most success are those that get everyone invested in the mission

Startups need operations - just a little at first, but more as they grow. 🚀 In the beginning, it’s all about keeping everyone on the same page. Next, you need clear goals and bring clarity to the key processes to keep things running smoothly. Finally, it's about preparing the business for rapid scale. It's like preparing the house for a party. Everything is in place, and everyone knows the house rules. Not every startup needs a full-time ops person right away. Part-time can be the right decision at the beginning. In the end, what matters is staying organized and disciplined. Startups are marathons, not sprints. Take it one step at a time. 🏃➡️

I started my career working with pre-PMF startups, thinking the key to reaching the next milestone was equipping myself with the right tools. It didn’t work out. Next, I turned to frameworks. That didn’t help either. Now, my core belief is that culture holds the answer. But what kind of culture does it take to build the "fastest growing company"? Link in the comments.

Non-obvious behaviours killing your startup Success in startups is about more than just vision. Almost all founders face very similar challenges. By learning from others' experiences, we can avoid these mistakes and focus on building momentum where it counts. TL;DR: - Over-relying on metrics without context → metrics need narrative for true insights - Failing to define clear roles → unclear roles breed confusion - Waiting “one more week” → feedback beats perfection - Sticking to plans at all costs → adapt plans to stay market-relevant - Neglecting sales → sales also validates product If this intrigued, you can read the whole post here: https://lnkd.in/e5qzsPmj
