This project is a lovely example on how to tackle a recognised human-centric challenge and use technology to achieve lasting results. You don't always have to go for the latest and greatest piece of tech just for the sake of something shiny, especially when your goals are clear. You can also be surprised at what you and your colleagues are capable of once you get underway. Well done, youthfolklore.com, Paulina and Simona Leasa-Pantiru!
Sparking Sparking Digital Transformation | Safeguarding youth folklore online In this interview we were fortunate enough to have two representatives from the same project present in the same event. Paulina and Simona Leasa-Pantiru sat down with us to talk about their past Erasmus+ project Youth Folklore. The main output of the project was not cutting-edge technology, but rather a website; still, the main topic was fundamentally human, as it was about safeguarding our local, common and ultimately European cultural heritage and folklore. What do we fo when young people no longer maintain these traditions orally as the previous generations did? What surprised the partners in the project? What was the only thing that needed to be outsourced? And what was the local impact of the project? #sparkingdigitaltransformation https://lnkd.in/d3NU5cXr

Generational change starts small, and it starts with us! Policy change is vital, but it's often the mundane, innocuous actions, mindsets and conversations in our own communities that move the needle over generations - one way or another. Educators do this vital work for my and your kids every single day, and speaking to them as part of my role, I know that openly supporting these steps, however small, matters! Support where you can, with encouragement, questions and suggestions. The more we openly acknowledge that we care about justice at a personal level, the more likely things will shift.
During 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸, children at Camp Australia engage in meaningful celebrations before and after school by creating collaborative artwork that reflects the theme of reconciliation. Across the country, our programs are incorporating activities that teach the importance of Australia's Indigenous cultures and histories. Through these artistic expressions, we aim to cultivate an informed, empathetic generation committed to reconciliation. #NowMoreThanEver #NRW2024 #oshc #education Warren Jacobson Igor Merkin Alissa Taylor Craig Stewart Leah Paff Virginia Wilson Tim Naylor Paula Mayson Dr. Lena Belin Carole Priol Nathan Platus Raksha Parsnani Luciana Panzarino Brittney Burgess Tabitha Sephton Iain Dennis Jonathan Tannoury Gwen Stocks Justine Hardware

In this video, learn about the insights of indigenous pastoralist men who participated in a recent training based on the Secure Your Families Futures (SYFF) curriculum. The SYFF curriculm is designed to transform harmful norms and practices about women’s rights among men in local communities. Social norms, whether they are healthy and just or unhealthy and unjust, influence behaviours in all communities. If more people practice and promote positive equitable norms and practices, they are likely to influence the practices in their community thus promote equity and rights. #womensrights https://lnkd.in/d3bSayNG

Recently, Casey Hewes and I have been discussing the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). This declaration was an effort to unify the basic, fundamental, and immutable #rights of #Indigenous Peoples globally. 🌍🛡️ But my question is, how aware is the general population of this? 🤔 Did you know that the only countries to initially vote against these Indigenous rights (in the early 2000s) were Canada, the United States, Australia, and New Zealand? These are the 4 countries colonized by England and still largely influenced by English-based governance. 🏛️🇬🇧 How much did you know about this before or do you know about it now? #IndigenousRights #UNDRIP #IndigenousPeoples #GlobalAwareness #Colonization #Canada #UnitedStates #Australia #NewZealand #HumanRights #IndigenousVoices

🧐 Is UNDRIP a Trojan Horse? While the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) is framed as a supportive document for Indigenous rights, there may be hidden consequences within its implementation that warrant a deeper look.
