The AHRI Standard 210/240 serves as a benchmark for evaluating the performance of unitary air-conditioning systems and air-source heat pumps. Developed by the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), this standard outline the definitions, classifications, testing protocols, rating criteria, operational guidelines, and essential data requirements for the published ratings of these systems. Key Highlights of AHRI Standard 210/240: 1. Coverage: This standard is applicable to factory-assembled unitary air conditioners and air-source heat pumps with capacities below 65,000 Btu/h. 2. Energy Type: It specifically pertains to electrically powered, vapor compression refrigeration systems. 3. What’s Excluded: The standard does not include heat-operated devices, packaged terminal units, room air conditioners, or systems with capacities of 65,000 Btu/h or more. 4. Testing and Evaluation: It provides comprehensive guidelines for psychrometric testing to ensure consistent and accurate results, considering modern advancements like variable speed compressors and air-moving technologies. This standard plays a vital role in guaranteeing that air-conditioning and heat pump systems adhere to uniform performance and efficiency standards, aiding consumers in making educated choices while fostering energy efficiency in HVAC systems. #AHRIStandard2017 #PerformanceRating #HVACstandards #EnergyEfficiency #AHRI210 #AHRI240 #HVACperformance #IndustryStandards #HVACcertification #AHRIapproved
