Real Carbon Inc.’s Post

Happy Holidays since it's the end of the Year, what's next for composite manufacturing? It's clear that as society and industry move towards sustainable materials, we in the Composites Industry will have a significant part to play. There are multiple definitions and materials and methods that we can use to make sustainable, recycled or upcycled products, and it's a pretty important topic. Atypically because it's that time of year, we'll begin at the end, then start 2024 at the beginning with a series of articles, and references to the various terms we need to define and mention some companies who are doing their part to help the planet. At Real Carbon we decided to experiment with our own internal waste stream. If we imagine cutting cookies from a rolled-out sheet of cookie dough, we cut carbon fiber from a sheet of carbon fiber, and in the same manner however carefully we "nest" the shapes, we inevitably end up with 5-10% as waste. 🍪 So, we decided to use this stream of material instead of sending it to a landfill and use it make parts. Sounds easy. It isn't but we want to do our part. #realcarboninc #carbfinfinity #upcycled #happyholidays https://lnkd.in/gR_SqruZ
