This FPS game “Bodycam” has gone viral for its extremely realistic graphics. Developed by two brothers at just 17 and 20 years old, it’s officially released into early access for $30 The game has certainly been met with mixed reviews for a variety of reasons, the first being its similar nature to another viral game in development known as “Unrecord”. This title was the target of a huge discussion around video games potentially becoming too realistic for a younger demographic, with huge support falling on both sides of the argument. The second reason for mixed reviews is the two brothers have released this project early, taking on early access funding in order to improve the game as they go. Through my own play I gotta admit it is very much a work in progress, but does have potential. Would recommend anyone hesitant on spending the $30 to wait for more community feedback on how that progress is going, but definitely an FPS genre we will be seeing a lot of growth in these coming years, especially when the games competitor “Unrecord” finishes development #gaming #indiedev #developer #fps #solodev #news

🕹️ Did you know that many classic arcade games didn't have an actual ending? Instead, they would simply get harder and faster until the player eventually lost. One iconic example of this is Pac-Man. Released in 1980, Pac-Man quickly became a cultural phenomenon. The game's simple yet addictive gameplay, colorful graphics, and memorable sound effects made it a hit in arcades around the world. But despite its popularity, Pac-Man didn't actually have an ending. The game consisted of 256 levels, but a programming error caused the game to glitch out on level 256, creating what is now known as the "kill screen." Thanks to the 8-bit CPU and an infamous overflow, the game tries to draw 256 fruits and of course it can't.
