POPers take action for place. Here's a brilliant example from Nui Sirikul Laukaikul and her team in Thailand - a new festival of place in ISAN. "Come to celebrate the ISAN Wisdom in fermentation (Plara) and soul music (Morlam) in KhonKean during Dec 26-29. Both are the cultural drivers of ISAN of which the world must learn from. ISAN is considered the poorest area of Thailand but in fact it’s so rich in humanization and civilization. Let’s collectively bring ISAN to the world for the regenerative future." #regenerativeculture #thailand #isan

Learning a new language provides us with many opportunities to learn about different cultures, the history of human beings, and traditions. In FarsiMonde, we attempt to cover various aspects of language learning, from teaching the alphabet and basic Persian grammar to more detailed cultural information. In Old Persia, people were really into celebrations and festivals. We had at least two or three celebrations each month. Christmas music - a mood booster or stress inducer? Depends on who's listening and whether you listen to the music or make it yourself. 🎵 Music is a powerful tool for influencing mood and emotions. Research shows that music stimulates the brain’s reward system, helping to regulate emotions and elevate mood. During the holidays, familiar melodies associated with joy and celebration evoke nostalgia and happiness. For those with positive holiday memories, these tunes can strengthen feelings of belonging and connection. Conversely, for those with more challenging holiday experiences, the same melodies may trigger sadness and stress. Studies have also shown that playing Christmas music too early can activate holiday-related pressure and lead to stressful situations. 🎵 A decidedly positive aspect of Christmas music is that it promotes social cohesion. Singing Christmas carols together, whether with friends or family, enhances a sense of community and creates shared experiences. Studies reveal that group singing increases levels of the feel-good hormone oxytocin and endorphins, improves mood, and enhances quality of life and overall well-being. Additionally, communal singing has psychosocial benefits, such as boosting resilience, fostering a sense of belonging and stronger social bonds. 🎵 I have experienced how Christmas music brings people together as a choir conductor for almost 30 years. Still the same songs, always the desire to sing them together again and again to feel that magical Christmas feeling. As a surprise, I found a video clip from 10 years ago on the Internet, where the Rae Chamber Choir, a choir that has developed into a strong community of friends, under my direction, performs one of the Estonians' most beloved Christmas carols, Rene Eespere's "Then When My Grandmother", in Jüri Church. Vocal soloist Reti Truupõld Recorder Marianne-Laura Saar Piano Siim Selis Neither the sound nor the video quality is the best, but nevertheless as a music therapist I believe that this performance, in its authenticity and sincerity, gives a sense of togetherness and of breathing in harmony in Christmas music. I hope you enjoy! https://lnkd.in/d2MDqXfB

Very interesting information about the Persian language and the rich culture of Old Persia, offering valuable insights into language learning, traditions, and festivals. It's a great resource for non-native speakers who want to learn about Persian's rich culture. The best part of the website is that Persian is written on one side, with the English version on the other, making it easy to learn and understand.
