‘Tis the season to deck the halls…falalalala lala la la! Yes, it is already that time of year again! Holiday festivities (and chaos!) are just around the corner. But festive celebrations, flickering lights, and winter greens bring additional fire risks that can quickly turn this festive time of year into a devastating one. We have some safety tips to ensure a happy and safe holiday season. 🎁 Check all holiday light cords to make sure they aren’t frayed or broken. Don’t string too many strands of lights together—no more than three per extension cord. 🎁 If you are buying an artificial tree, look for the fire-resistant label. When putting it up, keep it away from fireplaces, radiators and other sources of heat. 🎁 If getting a live tree, make sure it’s fresh and water it to keep it fresh. Bend the needles up and down to make sure no needles fall off. 🎁 When decorating outside, make sure decorations are for outdoor use and fasten lights securely to your home or trees. If using hooks or nails outside, make sure they are insulated to avoid an electrocution or fire hazard. 🎁 Don’t forget to turn off all holiday lights when going to bed or leaving the house. 🎁 Keep children, pets and decorations away from candles. #gtarealestate #gta #peel #mississaugarealtor #mississauagarealestate #realtor #realestate #realestateagent #realtor #MeganScottTeam #property #buy #sell #buying #selling #forsale #market

🎄 Festive Season Property Tips✨ With Christmas right around the corner it’s the perfect time to be thinking about adding some festive cheer while keeping your property safe and well-maintained! Here’s how: 🎄Set Clear Decoration Guidelines: Communicate what’s acceptable (e.g., no nails in walls or adhesives that could cause damage). Clear rules make the season stress-free for everyone. 🔌Highlight Safety Measures: Remind tenants about fire safety—use LED lights, avoid overloading sockets, and keep real trees hydrated. ✨Provide Festive Touches in Communal Areas: A simple wreath, fairy lights, or seasonal ornaments in shared spaces can create a warm and inviting atmosphere. 🎅Decorate Outdoor Spaces Responsibly: If tenants want to decorate outdoors, ensure pathways remain clear and decorations are secure to prevent hazards.
