We caught up with Holborn & Battersea based Dispute Resolution Partner Victoria Copeman following the recent King's speech. "Given the title, The Renters’ Rights Bill, it seems certain that Section 21 notices will be banned, however, what will replace them are currently unknown and we await the draft bill. With almost 40 separate proposed bills contained within the King’s Speech there appears to be no time frame as to when this draft bill will appear but it does seem certain that Section 21 notices will be abolished and ‘new clear and expanded possession grounds’ will be introduced." Do you want to know what no fault eviction could mean for you? When Aretha Franklin passed away in 2018, the distribution of her estate would have been equally divided among her 4 sons...until her 4 Wills surfaced - 3 handwritten ones and 1 typewritten but unsigned document. It's 2023 and the validity of any of her Wills is yet to be authenticated - and her sons are still locked in a court battle over her estate. With court involvement, supposedly private matters have also come to light. This is just an example of what can happen when a Will is not properly drafted. While templates can be found online, there is no assurance a DIY Will will hold up in court. A Will is a legal document and having an attorney who can craft your Will in line with your goals and wishes can save your beneficiaries from legal problems and fees down the line. #Wills #Trust #EstatePlanning #DYIEstatePlanning https://zurl.co/pbpn
