Back by popular demand... Wednesday Whine! Technology businesses over promising and under delivering! Stop it. All business owners have been here at some point... wowed by the sales person in front of us. Then reality hits... customer service is shockingly poor, the project has taken double the time to implement (you're paying for the extra days btw), it's probably the wrong solution (you're paying for the project to be changed btw) and they don't know what to do. (apparently it's hard luck btw). And then the boss won't talk to you. And you are stuck with them, even if they did a bad job until 2068. Before someone tells me there are brilliant companies out there, and we all make mistakes ....yes, yes, yes I know that but... I am seeing more and more businesses in this situation and Southern Solutions UK LTD are helping them rectify the mistakes of others. Businesses deserve better than empty promises. It’s time for companies to walk the talk and deliver. A few tips; ➡ Check that they have delivered whatever you are asking for, to a company your size before, and speak to that company (or more) direct for testimonial. ➡ Check their company out and do your due diligence. ➡ Do not worry about getting a second opinion or advice even if you are in contract with a technology company. I have seen service providers charge differently. You could pay double what others pay nearby. I have watched this happen many times. Some companies guess how much you can afford. They put profit above your trust. ✅ You must be careful. ✅ You must not rush your decision. ✅ Check their background. ✅ Speak with their current clients. ✅ Compare more than one company. • Ask for written cost details • Request honest feedback from users • Review their stability and history • Confirm what they include in the fee You deserve a fair price. But I said, make your client like a friend. Strategies I followed: ➡️ Understand their needs properly. ➡️ Providing excellent customer support. ➡️ Delivering quality services. ➡️ Always be transparent. ➡️ Doing follow-up regularly. ➡️ Offering perks, discounts, or free service. They aren't that hard, right? I'm going to brag about something that feels way more important to me than how many new clients we have been signing. It's how many clients we're able to retain. We've only had one client churn from Understory. Ever. We aren't a brand new company. Many of our clients have been with us for a couple of years now, and have grown with us as we continue to master new growth tactics. I know churn is inevitable, and partially out of our control. It will happen eventually. Until it does though, this is something we're very proud of. It's not because we don't make mistakes or because we always perform exceptionally well out of the gate. It's because we do everything in our power to focus on what IS in our control. We are always there for our customers and will never shy away from doing the work required to provide the immense amount of value that our clients deserve. I'm extremely proud of this. To me, this means more than how fast we continue to scale. It's a testament to our core values. Ali Yildirim and I explicitly wrote down our core values when we started working together and have never veered away from them. 1. Be Proactive - We will always proactively make iterations to campaigns, come with new ideas and stay on top of the latest trends and tactics. In fact, we're typically on the forefront of new trends, and are often the ones innovating. 2. Over-Communication - We don't hide things from our clients. We communicate the good, the bad, and the ugly to ensure trust is built from day 1. All of our clients also get direct and immediate access to Ali Yildirim and I via slack. We also have SLA's in place that ensure we will handle everything in an extremely timely manner. 3. Collaboration - We are the experts. That's why companies pay us. Regardless, we want to collaborate and hear your ideas. Nobody knows your business and your customers as well as you do. We value feedback and love learning from our clients. 4. Professionalism - We understand the value of professionalism. We treat you exactly as we would want to be treated if we were in your shoes. When you spend hard earned money on services like ours, you deserve the utmost professionalism. Honestly, I chalk our core values and emphasis on premium customer service to Ali and I's professional backgrounds. I am extremely grateful to have spent the better part of a decade in high visibility roles at major corporations. I know that I will most likely be an entrepreneur for the rest of my life, but that experience is absolutely priceless, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Enough of my Ted Talk. Happy Tuesday!
